Dade County HS Football....

Washington DC metro (DC/MD/NOVA/Baltimore) area has as much talent as South Florida in football, but the talent is much more diverse (skilled guys, upfront, QBs, and athletes etc) they’ve got better training and nutrition, and the teams are much better coached. And that gives the DC metro area a big advantage over South Florida. The teams are just better.

Washington DC metro area >> South Florida in not only football, but all sports to include

Basketball
Baseball
soccer
Lacrosse
Wrestling
Swimming
Gymnastics

I cannot think of a single sport in which South Florida trumps the DC metro area. Not one

Florida produces more baseball players per capita than any other state. The highest concentration of them is in South Florida.

Yes, it is true. Plus, that area has more gifted athletes overall than South Florida, spread out over all sports and many ethnicities. That region has dominance in many sports to include:

Football
Basketball
Lacrosse
Swimming
Wrestling
Gymnastics
Etc

As a result, the football talent is being cannibalized by other sports. Probably the best college basketball and NBA talent in America comes out of that region. Many of those guys were young football players but stop playing to focus on hoops.

Same thing with lacrosse. The best lacrosse in America is played in that region. Many of those lacrosse guys were really good at football, but stopped playing to focus on that sport.

Plus, you have many Olympic athletes coming out of that region from many other sports (swimming, gymnastics, etc)

So, if the DC/Baltimore metro area is already whipping South Florida in football, it would be even more dominant if football weren’t being cannibalized by other sports.

Ok.
But DC doesn't have more football talent than South Florida. (tri-county)

And that's not an opinion. NFL draft can back that up.

Let’s put this in perspective. Majority of the regions you guys are comparing to SoFlo football are not as dense in population so the schools are attracting a lot of talent from a broader radius.

if we had 1 school that represented a 15 mile radius around Miami Central I don’t think that school would lose a single game! Just my opinion.

Way too many excuses & LMFAO @ the weak moral victory for Champagnant Catholic.

So we should award them a moral victory against Lownes County when they have a significant talent advantage against every single school in 2A? Really? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

so let’s feel sorry & make excuses for Miami teams that got smoked by out of state teams that recruit EXACTLY how the Miami schools do to the other schools in their area & the rest of the state? FOH

These same excuses are never afforded to other teams in the area, district, region, or state when they get smoked by south Florida schools. I mean never...

South Florida has 6 million freaking people. Ain’t no one buying all these **** excuses...they’ve had their fair share of out of state victories going back two decades but 2019 just wasn’t their year. Freaking own it already...enough with the excuses.

You do realize champagnat isn't even a top 10 team in south Florida right?. Why are they playing Lowndes?.

But even they beat an out of state team 25-0 this year from tn.

Ninjas saying own it..blah blah but dont even speak on the Ws we did get. Your thoughts on th is is invalid as well considering you coach in Tampa and actually thought a team from that way would beat a south Florida team lol.

Not even 15miles. Try 5 miles. These guys dont even get it. Kids literally can walk from mnw to Miami central and btw.
Just merging mnw and miami central alone even with horrible coaching of th worst..there isn't a team in the country that would beat that team.

Agree and slightly disagree. Agree, Dade schools need to own the L's as much as they brag on the W's.

On the crootin front, it's cRaZy everywhere, correct. In some Georgia school districts, Lowndes and Buford (both are powerhouses most years) for instance, they have a buy-in program. You can legally pay a small sum of $, and enroll at these PUBLIC schools. Can this be done in Dade? Honestly don't know. They make is very easy in Georgia in places.. What's crazy about Lowndes is that Valdosta is 5 miles down the road and have been a national power as well. Lowndes was known as "the white school" when it opened making Valdosta the "black school.'" When Lowndes opened the the buy in program, it's amazing how many 4* kids were all the sudden at Lowndes and how diverse the football team became :)

As for the large population in SoFl, I think if you break down numbers of kids that play football, you'll find the player pool isn't really that large especially in Dade for a variety of reasons. Lowndes will have upwards of 200 kids in their program at any given time. Also, when you get out of SoFl, you begin to see the success of developing players at the middle school level. Literally have feeder programs. Unless things have drastically changed from my years in Dade, it's all pound ball driven.

You'd be lucky to find teams in south Florida with over 60 players. Jv programs are almost non existentsince I've graduated in early 2000s.

You hit the nail on the head with most of your post. I also respect valdosta and football in that town honestly. Both schools seem to run good programs.

There are maybe in south Florida 2 or 3 programs that run almost a feeder system at the pop Warner parks unlike outside of this area where kids are in the same program scheme from theage of 10 all te way to high school.

This.

100%.

If these same games happened at the end of the season, these out of state teams are getting smoked.

August 15th or whatever? Its a pre-season exhibition game. If you really want to pound your chest over these games, by all means, but I take the losses with a grain of salt.

So the OOS teams, typically with better coaching, aren’t getting better as the season progresses, but the teams with less quality coaching, are getting better? Makes total sense.

They don’t have to be a top 10 team in Florida. What sense are you even making? They scheduled the game bc they figured Florida boys would run through those Georgia boys, 3 stars in Florida would beat 4/5 stars in Georgia...you & I both know that’s the motto that ALL of us from south Florida live by but here you are with even more excuses.

MNW got a running clock put on their a$$ by lownes county & there’s no excuse for that either. They were ranked 12th in the nation & got a running clock put on them..let’s own that.

& quit bringing up Tampa..we’d smoke all that **** from Hollywood & you know it. Rep your city & quit claiming an entire region as yours.

I’m certified where I’m from.
