Agree and slightly disagree. Agree, Dade schools need to own the L's as much as they brag on the W's.
On the crootin front, it's cRaZy everywhere, correct. In some Georgia school districts, Lowndes and Buford (both are powerhouses most years) for instance, they have a buy-in program. You can legally pay a small sum of $, and enroll at these PUBLIC schools. Can this be done in Dade? Honestly don't know. They make is very easy in Georgia in places.. What's crazy about Lowndes is that Valdosta is 5 miles down the road and have been a national power as well. Lowndes was known as "the white school" when it opened making Valdosta the "black school.'" When Lowndes opened the the buy in program, it's amazing how many 4* kids were all the sudden at Lowndes and how diverse the football team became
As for the large population in SoFl, I think if you break down numbers of kids that play football, you'll find the player pool isn't really that large especially in Dade for a variety of reasons. Lowndes will have upwards of 200 kids in their program at any given time. Also, when you get out of SoFl, you begin to see the success of developing players at the middle school level. Literally have feeder programs. Unless things have drastically changed from my years in Dade, it's all pound ball driven.
