Dabo to the Texans?

If there's smoke, it could also be self-generated, as a way to renegotiate his contract. It's the first thing the Clemson boosters will try to do, along with put in a huge buyout for any team trying to poach him.

Every decision in life comes down to 2 things: cash and creative. He either has to feel like he deserves more money (he obviously doesn't need more money) or he has to feel like winning at Clemson (say he wins again this year) has become boring. Some coaches (Urby) figured out the NFL world isn't their cup of tea. Meyer had his time off btwn UF and OSU to investigate that up close, he knew mf'ing an NFL player would only go so far vs a college kid. Dabo might find he can't sing folk country in an NFL locker room and have anyone give a ****.

Meyer's dream job is Notre Dame. He'd come out of retirement if they offered him that job.
I think it's well understood that Dabo's dream job is at his alma mater, Bama. I think he likes Clemson and knows he has a good thing going there, but he'd leave in a second if Bama offered him the HC position.

I was looking at betting odds for Saban retiring, and I saw that the biggest percentage has him hanging up his spurs in 2025. That would line up well for Dabo if he jumps to the NFL at 13 mil per yr (to be highest paid). He'll have tested the NFL waters and would know if he wants to stay, if not, he'd have the Bama gig waiting for him.

Miami is it's own worst enemy. If they hire the right coach it doesn't matter what dabo or any coach for that matter does. Swiney is just lucky Blake has largely been in charge of hiring coaches at Miami.
Valid points. Doesn’t hurt though if he bounces from Clemson much like Jimbo leaving FSU. It only helps.

Renegotiate? He signed a 10 yr 93 million dollar deal only a couple years ago. He's actually getting paid more than Nick Saban now.

I thought he had, but was too lazy to look. Wonder if the rumors came because Watson is the QB there.

Look at this hypothetical article from May 2019. Granted, Nuke ain't in Houston anymore.

The reality is, how many college head coaches have won a Super Bowl? Its JJ and thats it. Bellichek, Reid, etc. plus the great ones of the past never even were head coaches in college.

Have any of our CiS field correspondents spotted Dabo’s wife looking at houses in the Houston area this week?

Pete Carroll and Barry Switzer as well but not many that's for sure

College coaches have a way of knowing when things gonna start going down hill. Look at Clemson recruiting right now. Its not top 5 like usual. and if u look at the 247 composite, Clemson has 35 4 stars, we have 35 4 stars, u need closer to 50 to be top 5, of course they have around 11 5 stars and we have 1 but the rosters are not that far apart. Dabo has been and Clemson for over 10 years. Thats a long time and this is Lawrence's last year more than likely. He may never create another period like the last 5 years. I think we are gonna be the one to knock them off the ACC throne and Dabo is gonna leave

Could you imagine Dabo talking to a locker room full of grown *** men the way he does his Clemson's teams?

They'd laugh him out the room & wouldn't listen to him for a second, his schtick wouldn't fly for one second in the league.

Take a look around in the NFL, very few goofy country bumpkins as HC's, his act would wear thin by the 2nd week of mini-camp, those dudes would tell him to STFU as soon as he went into one of his fake Southern Youth Pastor style speeches lol.
