What if Dabo had waited one more game before making this announcement and let Bryant start his fifth game, which would have cost him his redshirt eligibility this year? Feels like that would have been totally wrong. Also feels like it is getting incredibly difficult to manage a roster in this era of guys leaving early for the draft, free agent grad transfers, and the new redshirt rules.
 
This is why saban is a coaching genus..he slowed played Tua last year and broke the glass at the perfect time to avoid this situation. Dabo who I repsect as a coach, dude there was no need for this comment at all. Your a grown *** man and accomplished and respected as a coach. Bryant did NOTHING on the field to warrant a benching. Yea sunshine is probally better, but if you we so convinced the have the balls to to start the kid from the go and not slow play Bryant who is a senior and won big games 4 u. Be straight up with him since this “isn’t middle school”. Or at least don’t come off sideways at the kid in the situation to the media..Dabo knew **** well he intended to hand the reigns over to sunshine.

I think this could’ve been handled a little better than it was. But one sack away from ending Clemson’s season is alright w me!
 
This is D1 football, the best player should play. If Bryant didn’t want to lose his starting spot, he should have played better, simple as that. Dabo would be doing his team a disservice by starting a lesser player cause he didn’t want to hurt the feelings of someone else. That’s why Dabo has Clemson where they are right now and we are continuing to run Bobby Big Play Knowles out there.

That and Knowles completely out of position as well getting suckered on the play.

Don’t agree with Dabo’s comments to the media, he could have taken the high road and let it be. That would show recruits that you have to ball out, and continue to improve, otherwise you shall be replaced. But hoping that by inserting Lawrence into the starting QB role that it will play dividends for us come ACCCG time. There’s nothing more I’d like to see than Trevor on his back, and no good backup QB to be found on Clemson’s bench. Can you imagine the Canes beating mighty Clemson in that game? It would turn the college football pundits upside down if they didn’t have the Tigers locked into the CFP. I wonder then if they would just pick 3 teams from the SEC, now that they’ve managed to firmly entrench 2 into the series.

Why are yall surprised about Dabo??? His comments on paying players and uses the word entitlement when he gets paid millions of dollars a year off free labor. This is who he is. Kids like Ladson don't care. Most coaches are at least quiet but since he is winning he can pull these stunts. We should be negative recruiting him like crazy!

Bryant isnt a lesser player...Bryant isn't Rosier this is a completely different situation. You think he's looking out for his player's by starting a flavor of the month true freshman instead of their Senior star QB? It sounds good on a video game but a real life locker room dont work like that..

Exactly I think Lawrence will be good but it remains to be seen if this is the best move this season. I like our chances better with Lawrence behind center in the ACCCG.
