Nice to see him kicking Florida State when they're down, but he would do the same to Miami if given the chance.

All we can hope for now is that Noles / Tigers doesn't get cancelled officially. Really hope it gets rescheduled and settled on the field before year's end.
 
I would love for our next HC to do this after a FSU press conference.

Probably one of the worst takes I’ve ever read on here. Clemson is a well oiled machine thanks to Dabo. It’s the premier culture in college football where the best assistant in the game doesn’t even entertain HC jobs, their co-OC takes a head coaching job before the actual play caller. They have little to no decommitments, don’t even entertain the transfer portal, and rarely lose guys to the portal, and guys bypass millions and 1st round selections to come back for their senior year. They have assistants lined up that they just promote when one leaves. Saban has them lined up but they’re not home grown. Saban couldn’t even dream of having that kind of culture. He’s got assistants dying to leave and use him as a stepping stone.

Dabo is gonna blow Saban’s pedigree out the water by the time he’s done. He’s clearly doing something right. He is one of the only ones that can beat Saban.

Some of y’all just hate him because he doesn’t care what anyone thinks of his opinions or beliefs and he tells your straight up. All while other coaches believe the same exact thing but tell you what you want to hear.

Last thing... winning without big money doesn’t exist. It’s the benchmark these days. Don’t blame Dabo for having big ticket assistants. Praise him for keeping them around.

I think your assessment of Dabo's influence is too rosy.

Take Venables for example. Google says he earns $2.4MM. That would make him approximately the 59th highest paid head coach in CFB. Just for comparison's sake, Oregon pays Cristobal $2.7MM. I'll give credit where credit is due-Dabo is a top 5 coach in CFB. But the success of the program is clearly tied to an administration that provides him the financial support/resources to do the things you mentioned above.

Completely agree. The game would have been over by the end of the 1st quarter. Why he is even giving FSU a second thought is beyond me. It's not like Clemson is hurting for funds. Sure, they spent a few hundred thousand to fly the team down to Tallahassee but that's like dropping a penny on the ground for almost everyone else.

He’s always been well paid but he hasn’t always made $2.4 million. He would be able to cement his legacy if he can do it without Venables (if he leaves and Dabo has to find a new DC) and still wins at this level.

That being said... Venables could have plenty of job offers that would pay over $3 million if he would just entertain them. He just won’t do it.
