You can respect FSU, like they've never bought players before? What about us when we were good, you think we were clean?
You also hate celebrations and dancing, etc? We were why a rule was created to attempt to stop that stuff. It was glorious when we were on top, forcing out will on everyone, but **** if anyone does it now, they're crap?
Nobody has to like Dabo, but they are who we used to be. The envy which has become hate in this thread is sick to see.
Clemson was never like how we used to be. Only the winning and the winning culture/accountability part.
The other aspects are totally different.
The overall culture, the better organized, higher moneyed booster network, the fake religious shtick, the small town back room deals, the church money laundering front, the intrinsic racist culture, the incredibly huge funding for infrastructure, coaching, and bags.
I would add the overall hypocrisy of “we do things the righteous, religious way”...when in fact, they cheat like motherfūckers, in large part, using a church.
We owned who we actually were, they don’t.
None of this excuses our incompetence or lack of success.
But don’t think for one second this is a level playing field.
We have two advantages: brand and location. We just need to take that and need to do more with less because we cannot match or even come close to their booster, bag, funding networks, or coaching spend.
We can spend for head coaching and coordinators, but after that, it’s seriously drops off, and that’s where they and other SEC schools have big advantages with the huge staffs of ex-coaches, research assistants, and so forth.
They need to be who we aspire to overtake, but we have to do it in a completely different and more efficient way, with significantly less money and smaller staff
correct. People don't hate Dabo, they envy him and Clemson for running the ACC the way we were supposed to.
