We talked about the defense yesterday, but here is the latest on Miami's offensive strategy in the Transfer Portal.

- I don't get the sense it's Ty Simpson or bust. They are working multiple angles at quarterback and it's obviously the main focus other than winning the sixth national championship. I'm expecting the unexpected.

- I previously thought Josiah Thompson (South Carolina) would be in this class, but it appears we may be moving in another direction. One possibility is adding a guard and moving Matt McCoy to tackle.

Miami has landed one of the top defensive prospects in the portal cycle, securing the commitment of Missouri edge Damon Wilson II.



The Hurricanes beat out Texas Tech, LSU and Ohio State for the top-10 overall portal prospect, bringing the Florida native back to the Sunshine State.

Listed at 6-foot–4 and 250 pounds, the rising senior spent two years at Georgia before his breakout 2025 season — where he racked up 9 sacks, 23 total tackles and 2 forced fumbles.



He fits the style of DC Corey Hetherman as an aggressive down field rusher...

Lennear, Matthews and Johnson Cook seem like the most likely. Maybe we get a surprise and flip Jacobs? Gotta think we get a 5* on the DL somewhere whether it's Jacobs. Brewster, or KJ Green.

Johnson-cook isn’t a 5. At least not yet. I do think we get a 5 along the DL though, maybe two.
