I don’t expect him to be a Cane at this point. Per sources, it’s become clear he wanted to play in the SEC and LSU all along and is stringing along the process by asking for increasingly unrealistic amounts from Miami. I heard the latest ask is $2 million. Canes won’t be outbid but this feels like a squeeze job to get as much as possible from LSU.

The Portal is cooling down and recruiting is heating up. Here is the latest:

- Miami is in a good position for nickel Keionte Scott (Auburn). He was a preseason All-SEC player and Senior Bowl kid at nickel before moving outside and struggling. He has NFL upside if he regains form with his old coach, Zac Etheridge.

- The Canes are also in a strong spot for LB Mohamed Toure (Rutgers). He was previously coached by Miami DC Corey Hetherman and was one of the best LBs in the Big 10 in 2023 before an ACL injury. He is expected to be full go.

5/18The name to watch is Canon Pickett. He is a priority target and there is momentum there. Miami will ultimately get the job done

Earlier this morning....I would be shocked if one of the two commits isn't Canon Pickett. Canon Pickett is trending towards Miami. For sure, Canon Pickett is one of these two guys. My prediction is soon....something sooner rather than later.

The Canes landed one of the fastest, most productive receivers in America with the commitment of WR Vance Spafford. The 5'11, 175-pound Mission Viejo, California native flipped his commitment from Georgia.
