Cut day

Maybe this wakes up some of our naive fans that think we have had all of this talent.

Maybe this also resonates with players to try to stick with that 4th year to put some more tape out there of them making plays...

Still near the top in having the most players on nfl rosters. Everyone has roster cuts even bama, Clemson etc. **** if Gerald Willis didn’t have off the field issues he would have been a top 100 pick which most of the times gives you assurance of making a 53 man roster in your first year for sure due to the teams investing that much capital in you. You get much less leeway as an undrafted guy period.

It's obvious we're not as talented as we were in our heyday, especially the final Butch years. But we're also playing against weaker teams. We should still be going 10-2 or better with out schedule. If we do that, then we'll get those Pro Bowl types.

Everybody has cuts. Clemson’s best OL during their two title runs (Mitch Hyatt) is joining Mike Jackson on the Cowboys’ practice squad.

We need more high-end first round types, but most other schools aren’t consistently putting this many players on rosters.

Forget the cuts, all you have to do is look at the actual draft every year lately and you see why Miami has not been a powerhouse for many a year. The biggest under acheiving team was the 2014 team.

I don't think some of these posters realize how hard it is to make a 53 man roster. Its a numbers game most of the time. The starters are normally already set so that's 22 jobs off the board already. Most backup jobs are normally solidified too. You might be talking about 10-12 legit open spots that 20-30 guys are fighting for. Its tough as ****.

I've been preaching about our lack of real talent AND ATHLETES for years on this forum. It falls on deaf ears, unfortunately.

So you are telling me players from Bama, OU and Clemson don't get cut? They just get a free pass because of the college they played for? Posters on here make it seem like only UM players are getting cut. Go through that waiver list and ill bet you would be shocked at how many players from perennial top 5 teams in college are getting cut just as much as ours are.

Which is why we need to win 10+ games and nail down a top 10 recruiting class this year , next year and the year after. Yeah, coaching and development is a big deal, I get it but unless your QB is a superstud you arent winning without talent.

I think the difference is Miami still produces a ton of players good enough to make NFL teams and be contributors. Overall numbers are still strong.

But guys that are real difference makers in the NFL - we've been getting those guys way too few & far between over the last 10-15 years.

Top teams like Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio St, etc. produce way more difference makers, although our overall number of players look the same.

Lack of NFL skill position talent - QB/RB/WR - is really what's killing us.
