I think knowledgeable fans could see something brewing. I sat in Doak, 97, until the bitter end. I told all those stinking Noles that were yapping in my face all game, just wait for it, Butch is building the house back, brick by brick. At the kickoff classic with the buckeye fans in 99, I nearly got in a fight at a bar with buckeyes over it. Told them we were going to be scary good, real soon. Granted, I thought 99 we would fare even better. All those studs we got with his full classes, I don't think that would have stopped for years had he stayed. Most of the fans concerns back then were with our OC, interestingly enough.
 
We should post all the articles talking about Butch's greatness from people other than Miami fans. That will solve it.
 
Nobody did less with more talent than Bortch Divit. Nearly all of his coaching staff had more successful careers than him. Bobby and Beamer whipped him like a red headed step child.

We have had this debate before. Paul and I discussed Butch often. Paul supported Butch until he dumped the U-at least that is what Paul said. I lobbied for his firing 18 months beforehand because I had an NFL friend (a long-time GM) who told me Butch was actively looking………..you can believe what you want.

I know the truth....Dee did not support Butch at the end of his tenure...at 1st, yes...but not towards the end.

Beating up or scraping by teams like Temple, Rutgers and BC in a since disbanded conference means exactly what in comparison?

I’m not ****ting on Butch. He accomplished something amazing, but not until the sanctions ended. Until that point he was average to not very good.

That’s it, nothing more.

31 scholarships taken away for Butch, playing against FSU teams that were super talented as well as other solid teams, yet you are supportive of Manny with no scholarships taken away.

Meanwhile, others here supporting Bill O’Brien (not saying you) for what he did at Pedo State under the circumstances yet no pass for Butch.
