Unlocking this since I'm getting **** in my dm's. :6fps6:

Not a corch.

/Ammended thread title.
//Full transparency, I locked this midway through last year when Cam was being Cam, but our defense was doodoo. Didn't know what to think. Thought about bumping it then with a similar post, but decided to just bury it since the thread title would be like moths to a flame if it ever got bumped.
I miss the old "The more you know" posts. Now that we're good again.... you can do those again lmao.

Good lord, quite a few people might wanna duck CIS till this thread buried itself again.

People say **** when frustrated.

or in Charles Haleys case apparently destroy entire locker rooms after a loss.

I for one probably wouldve liked/upvoted these takes if it werent for the fact that Manny Diaz drove my Canes Fandom into deep hibernation until last year.

Culture and discipline matter. Talent acquisition matters. Mario continues to develop as a game day coach. I think we’ll be back in the playoffs regularly until he retires.
I think Mario coaches this program until he dies. And I'm serious.

Like he'll eventually retire because he can't do it anymore and its going to be like losing your spouse of 60+ years and the widow/er goes next a very short time later.

@Dan E. Dangerously a big man admits his mistakes. My patience with Mario grew from remembering the bashing of Butch Davis in 1997.
Recruits do read these boards and I do think some patience needs to be given. Especially when a coach can’t get fired anytime soon.

Mario and Butch were great recruiters. Not great on game day. The future looks bright

2022 was the worst year of Miami football I can ever remember, including probation

Whatever people said in this thread, I don’t blame them

It’s the only year I can ever remember where I just flat out stopped watching our games

He’s a program builder but a gameday corch. Is what it is.

I’m not sure if he’ll ever become a great gameday coach but toughness and work ethic are good pillars to build a program around… and I think that’s what Mario will do.

I still think Mario will succeed here and make Miami a perennial top-10 program.
.

He’s still not a great gameday coach (IU beat us with a MAJOR talent deficit)… but the trend line on his coaching should make every Miami fan happy.

And he’s probably the best program builder (recruiter, leader, CEO, etc) in America.

Mega kudos for owning this.

The end of the Al Golden Years was it for me.

When I saw he was never going to fire his pal 'Onofrio, I knew we were cooked permanently. Also the tie. Who the F wears a tie on the sideline in Miami? Actually, who wears a tie anywhere in Miami?

I never want to go back to a time like that where I felt so lost as a fan and alumnus.

Yeah I think when we hired Manny that was when I was at an all time low as a program. Meaning just the ineptitude from the top on down

I just couldnt physically watch the 2022 team anymore but there was still hope that we would get better because the program was investing heavily so it was two totally different “lows” if that makes sense
