Cristobal Demoted by Bama

Mario gets demoted.So What!

Im happy knowing he's not our HC. And to think there were Cane fans wanting Cristobal here as our HC.:puzzled:

You guys are dopes. First, Mario did a tremendous job with Bama's O-line. Do a little research and stop looking like 15 yr old girls who were dumped. This is a power move by Saban. Mario is coaching TE's and tackles. The two most important positions on the line in their offensive scheme. This has nothing to do with the quality of his work. Saban would have sht canned him long before this move. This AINT Miami.

Trust me, you have no clue what your babbling about. Typical you would base your opinion on how the team performed in 2015 versus actually understanding how Henry and the 5* depth at OL carried a subpar OL coach along.

Saban kept him around not because he really was a stellar OL coach and he wanted to bring in somebody worse...lol...he kept him around 4 the same reason he brought him in to begin with...the Coopers and the Ridleys.

Bama inbreds on Mario

Why Alabama offensive line remains a question mark | AL.com

from the comments

"I don't know about that but I fully support Mario for that Miami job! Immediately"

"I agree on that but Bama will have to part ways with Mario this year if they want to get better on the offensive line in the future. It's hard to believe that with all the talent on the line that they are getting abused like they are unless it's poor coaching. I think they will move on from him unless he leaves on his own to be a coach. He is getting attention from FIU and they can have him."

"Yeah, they can find someone else to recruit south Florida. The cost is proving too high."

"The O-line has not been as good since Christobal got here that is obvious."

"Cristobal has a great reputation, but if the proof is in the pudding, I hope Miami takes him."

"line play has been worse since cristobal took over. very inconsistent."

"Cristobal may be a great recruiter, but we need someone to teach these guys how to block before Coker gets killed. And It is not a slow release. He has guys on him by the time he gets set."

"As soon as the new O-Line coach arrived, I noticed the line doing some different things, specifically a drill where the guys are shuffling back and forth punching a wrestling mat. I had my doubts the first time I saw it, but now I have no doubt. They're getting soft"

"Yea, I have known that for a long time. The ironic part is Cristobal was a lineman and a head coach. However, you are right on the money."

"I really think that since Mario Cristobal has become the offensive line coach Bama has had some issues with the line. Even though Bama had success last year, they still had a lot of line breakdowns."

"If they were getting any kind of coaching that was good they wouldn't still be this bad. I really hope Saban shows Cristobal the door asap"

Mario better not spend that SEC money

Why is this SEC ball-licker on this board?
His tough-guy schtick insulting other Canes is lame, and he's obviously not a Cane fan.
Mods need to get rid of this mouth-breathing dweeb.

Let's think through this a minute...

A program like Alabama, moves an "underperforming" coach from one position to the other rather than just outright release him?

That doesn't make sense as I suspect they do not have a "rehab" or "performance improvement plan" for their staff.

There is likely some method to the madness we are either missing or aren't aware of.
because they can afford to bury him on the staff at a minor position while retaining his recruiting ties to south florida.

You're missing the point guys.
He declined all the head coaching offers that came his way to continue learning from the best. That's his genius. Haters!

Mario must be a great coach despite his demotion because he's coaching in the SEC. Saban thinks TE coach is a more important position than OL coach, so he's moving his best guy to coach TEs.

didn't think it was this bad, they really hate Mario

The coach they brought in was the OC at UCF and is known as a great coach. Don't think this is really a demotion. The guy who's getting demoted is the TE coach who will be in a non-coaching role now.

So wait a second.

He's not a good OL coach, but that OL had the Heisman trophy winner go for approximately 2k yards?

Then there's....

Henry isn't all that, anyone can run behind that line. Did you see the holes he had to run through!

Then there's.....

Alabama has 5 star OL across the board so anybody could do his job.

Then there's....

Stars don't matter.

Then there's....

Saban is an ******* and ruthless. Underperform for him, he'll ship you to Siberia.

Then there's....

Christobal isn't a good recruiter, just a bunch of hype.

Then there's....

He didn't fire him because he wanted to keep him for his recruiting of the Ridley and Cooper's of the world.

Man, there's a lot of talk out of both sides of people's mouths around here. He's still got a job, I don't know the specifics as to why he was moved, but mention his name and all kinds of dumb **** flies out of some of your mouths.

Last thing, I'm still laughing at the bitterness some have for him leaving to go to Bama in the first place. More money, coaches under one of the best of not the best, and then there's the following. Who in their right mind wouldn't leave Al's sinking ship due to the above and half of the fans or more wouldn't send their kid to play for that guy. Softies, again talking out of both sides of your mouths..

No bitterness about him leaving Golden for Saban. Anyone in their right mind would have done the same. But that doesn't mean he's a good coach. The guy has underperformed as a coach his entire career given the talent he had. He's a FIU-level coach with recruiting ties into So FL that inflate his pay grade..

Bama's OL didn't protect very well this year. Their run game will never be the problem, regardless of who the OL coach is.

Cristobal is overrated, and he certainly isn't HC material in a P5 conference imo.

They gave up 26 sacks in 15 games this year while averaging almost 30 attempts per game. Not world beater status but certainly not bad.

Question is...

If your HC thought you were a valuable asset to the O-line would he move you?

(answer is no)

The worst part about all of this is that he actually threw in his hat for the head coaching job at Miami and people actually thought it would be a good idea. They even thought him coming in as a HCIW was a good idea as well.

The guy is a loser and offers nothing. Yet some swore up and down that there was more value. Dummies

To think, so many people wanted this guy as our HC.

A guy who is a position coach.

I usually agree with you, but it's a huge stretch to say that he had a lot of support to be our next head coach. The exact opposite was true as threads and polls clearly indicated.

A lot of the guys in your profession had that opinion though as well as a bunch of recruits per an article.
