Count Me In...

....as someone that was willing to let this staff see how this season played out but is now done. Just fired off an e-mail to Flake Jimmy that I'm withholding all future donations and encouraging everyone I know to follow suit until a change is made. I've broke and enough is enough. I won't actively mope here but apathy is the emotion of the day.

You must be blind if it took you this long.

I thought I was late to the party, and I figured this out last year against VA Tech. There is only so much rationalization one can spit out in the face of overwhelming data.

Nothing to do with being blind. More to do with (accurately) understanding that a change was NEVER going to be made prior to this season, not wanting to ever actively root against this team and grasping at any straws of hope going into a season. If you can't be foolishly delusional about your sports teams every year then you're not that invested in them. And again, this is all under the umbrella of absolutely knowing that a change wasn't going to be made prior to this season.

Like I said, I told them that I won't renew my seats or make any additional Hurricane Club donations and have encouraged anyone else I know to follow suit until a change is made. Even that, while more effective than flying a banner or b!tching on here, is of little actual consequence to them. If you know anything about how this program runs nothing we do or say is going to matter. We as a fanbase and of mid-tier and lower "boosters" and season ticket holders don't matter. Our value falls somewhere below conference bowl money distrubution and slightly above local advertising revenues from signs on the outfield wall at Mark Light. There are a handful of mega-donors and BoT members that have all the influence and hopefully they've had enough as well.

That's among the dumbest things I've ever heard. Golden could be signed up for another 40 years as HC here, but that doesn't mean that you can't criticize him as HC. Thinking that Golden is an awful HC doesn't mean you're "actively root[ing] against this team." You're another one of those punks who made fun of and belittled everybody who dared to question Golden and now you want to be "counted in?" Nah, you can go post on the Don Bosco prep board next year.

You must have dropped out of Don Bosco if you realistically can extrapolate what I've stated to me having ever precluded anyone from criticizing this coach or this staff in the past. And you must also be deaf, dumb and blind if you don't think a contingent around here made that leap from criticizing the staff to actively rooting against the team. I appreciate your non-vote to be allowed in whatever group you think I'm trying to join. I guess I'll go rush another fraternity now.

I love the posters who were above the fray for so long, who finally see what has been obvious for going on 2 years and then make a thread proclaiming that they've seen the light.

No one gives a **** OP. You will forever bear the scarlet letter that says your football opinions are worthless.

Was that out loud? Did you mean to actually contradict yourself in back to back posts?

LOL @ "whatever group think [you're] trying to join." Did you not realize that you made a thread asking to be "counted in?"

OP is slow.

I told retards like Niner and KlanAlmighty that this was a throw away year from jump street. not sure how anyone could watch what happened in 2011-2013 and think that this staff could win anything

I realize we're dealing with a complicated concept here. Try to follow along. It was obvious to anyone with a semi-functioning brain that they weren't making a change prior to this season. Therefore it was going to be an exercise in futility to get apesh!t crazy about anyting regarding the staff going into this season. Therefore (right or wrong) it was easier as an actual fan that attends actual games to at minimum delude yourself into holding out hope for at least the Coastal this year. All my original post stated is that I'm done now. You can enjoy your cookie for being done before me. To return to the earlier points, it wouldn't have made a difference either way into a timeframe for a potential change anyway.

Count me into a mindest of complete apathy. Not an actual group moderated by you.

More mealy mouthed, irrelevant bull**** from you. All you said is exactly what I said before: Golden wasn't going to get fired before the season so there was no use in criticizing him. Except now you imply that anybody who did was going "ape**** crazy" and you're just above the fray. You're such a true gentleman! Again, you want to be counted in, but nobody wants some snide, condescending jackass like you around.

Gotta love how you started posting your fan resume, though. Another special snowflake.

I'm going to make some flashcards so you can comprehend this:

A) Everyone who was critical of Alfred wasn't deemed by me to have gone apesh!t. If you don't think there were some that did non-stop in every thread though from the moment we lost the bowl game then you have a serious issue with processing reality.

B) What resume did I list? That I sent an e-mail to Flake that I'm not renewing my seats or making any additional donations? Wow. What a resume. I should have a box at SLS next to The Tomato King. You must have missed the part when I said that all of us are irrelevant to the powers that be in the Gables anyway.

C) Again, consider my application officially withdrawn to join your treehouse club. My mom was even going to drop off some PB&J sandwiches later with the crusts cut off like you prefer. Your loss.

LOL. You're joining fincane as a master of the irrelevant. Why are the guys who think they're so smart so freakin' terrible at expressing themselves and staying on point? Your opinions DO matter! Keep posting away! You do realize that the "false dichotomy" you speak of goes both ways, right? As if anyone that wasn't full on mope around here must also be the biggest Alfred slurper. I'm pretty sure we've exhausted this little exchange. Go ahead and attack me for being some condescending slurper that has just seen the light you saw when the hire was made and let's move on.

Nobody said that. You really have a hard time focusing, huh? In this case, YOU were a Golden defender and now you're asking to be counted in. Sorry, door got shut a long time ago.

I "broke" last year during the 3rd quarter of the bowl game, sitting in that ****** Orlando stadium watching Teddy Bridgewater destroy us.

But I don't think I have ever been as angry as I was when GT connected on 3rd and 16 on Saturday. That right there was the firebombing of Dresden.

I am actually looking forward to apathy setting in at some point this season, because I straight up scared my girl the other night with my silent, seething rage. She loves the Canes almost as much as I do but I don't think she had ever seen that kind intent to kill in someone's eyes before.

My USF game for Al was the UNC game last year. I knew it was over after that. I already had doubts after the original Maryland dame, but I held onto hope that it was all tied to the cloud and a lack of talent. Year 3, I knew we had enough talent and still didn't see changes. I pinpointed that UNC game early on and it told me everything I needed to know.

Everyone else should give the OP a break. Unlike many others, he was willing to come out and admit he was wrong.
