Any doubts? Was last years success mainly due to elite talent? Is this years failure lack thereof?
Just curious. Not flaming or excusing. I’m conflicted.
He’s pretty predictable by the numbers. There’s definitely a book on him now .It's a combination of many things. Our personnel doesn't match the system like it did last year: Bain was literally born to play in the Tite Front.
The personnel is not as talented even at positions that they do match (ie Blount
There is far more tape on his system now after not only a season at UM but the whole playoff run which added a 1/3rd season. He was a DC for one season the year prior to coming here at Minnesota, which given the lack of talent there was probably not so great to use.
The injuries to the secondary, while not being a top reason, are still a reason.
There has to be a "Tell" or something he is giving away on his play calls because it feels like teams no exactly when to call a screen. He’s pretty predictable by the numbers. There’s definitely a book on him now .
They passed on first down like ten times in a row and we looked shocked every timeHe’s pretty predictable by the numbers. There’s definitely a book on him now .It's a combination of many things. A pass? He is the ONLY reason we have almost lost two games. For now I give him a pass and a chance to flip things. I honestly don’t like the on 3rd down bring in the quick rushers. All that happens is teams drop it off quick and it’s always a 1st down.
I feel like I’m watching manny with the late blitzes by db’s. Sometimes we time them up perfectly and others it’s late as **** and useless. He needs to go watch our 2017 defense and copy it - we have the talent to be at least that good, but the scheme has to be way more aggressive; we need to live and die on creating chaos, which we absolutely are not doing at all right now.
1. The injuries are a bigger reason than you think losing OJ and Antoine is massive. Now we have to play 27, 0, 2, and 24 WAY more than we should. A defensive backfield of Poyser, Dunnigan, Bryce, Lucas, OJ, and Antoine beats the **** out of 0, 27, 2, and 24.It's a combination of many things. OCs are targeting 25 and 7 in coverage way more than the linebackers1. The injuries are a bigger reason than you think losing OJ and Antoine is massive. 2. 9 and 1 in coverage is a BIG problem. OC’s are targeting them in the passing game even on “running downs” because it’s easy
3. The missed tackles. 2nd and 8’s are 2nd and 3’s because the first guy on the perimeter isn’t making the play.
^^^^ those are the main issues with the defense
Trust me brother I understand. But he did lead us to a great defense last year and we have also had a lot of injuries DB wise. DB is our issue right now. I’m hoping he can fix itA pass? He is the ONLY reason we have almost lost two games.
