Cook Wants to Stay in State.

Losing Cook, Rudolph, and lane is a FAIL by golden and staff. Especially Cook, and Trav.

This statement kills me, let it be known, we are not going to get every kid in our backyard, and that goes for now and when we are a elite program again. Just because a kid didn't choose Miami doesn't mean Al and the staff didn't recruit them properly, a top 10 class is not a fail, even if Rudolph, Cook, Sony Lane go elsewhere. There is plenty of talent to go around and many factors that are involved in South Florida recruits for instance, Valentine, he loves Miami but refered to LSU as a " NFL Contract", why is that? Why LSU all of a sudden? There is more than meets the eye with some of these kids and coaches using them as pawns.

Why are people picking Miami for Cook? Seems pretty obvious to me that he hopped on the FSU bandwagon.

There's only so much a staff can do when it comes to recruiting. So save the "you can't let player A get away" comments, unless they weren't recruiting the player hard at all (which doesn't seem to be the case w/ Cook, Sony, Lane, Rudolph etc).

Who has? Only that herald Gator supporter has. I think everyone knows he's picking FSU. The last visit thing is huge at least he's giving Miami a chance. I love our class but this is the kid i know will be a 1st round pick in 3 years. Like Patrick Peterson, Sammy Watkins, Tracy Howard, Duke Johnson those kids are 1st round pick SFL talents from day 1...

I'm gonna go with Miami. He already used his official to FSU, and as far as we know he ain't planning on visiting again. So we get his last visit, and we all know how that can go.

Cane.

Two things..

1) TP801, I dont dislike you as much as alot of posters on here. I think you are just a little misunderstood. BUT u you are WAY OFF with callin this class a fail if we dont get Cook, Sony, Lane and Rudolph. Bro, this is a CONSENSUS top 5 class WITHOUT THEM. ESPN has us at #3 and someone said 247 has us at #1. This is a GREAT class. If those kids cant see what we are doing here and dont want to be apart of it. Let them go. And personally, I am not crying over Rudolph or Lane. WRs like them come out every year in SoFla. They are not once in a decade, program changing WRs. Ridley and Burgess-Becker will be better. Cook is the ONLY ONE I would SMH at if we lost. Everyone else can kicks rocks. And thats including Sony who I think is playing games with us.

2) And to the poster who called this a $hitty staff. What are you smokin or snortin or shootin? Dude say what you want about this staffs ability to coach this team but this staff is top 5 in the COUNTRY when it comes to recruiting. Nobody can F with them as a unit. I wouldnt trade them for anybody. Last year was the exception. Everyone has a bad year. But that will not be the norm. They bounced back big time this year. Recruiting classes like this give you HOPE for the future. At this point, as a fan base thats all we have.

Well said.

Exactly. Its beyond stupid to trash the staff because a kid decides to leave town and go somewhere else. I mean if they failed to offer, if they didnt recruit him, or they played around with the kid, or they didnt evaluate him properly, that is fair criticism. But when they have been bending over backwards recruiting a kid for as long as anyone, and doing everything they can, there isnt much more you can ask of them.

Surely you are not surprised by comments like this. We have quite the vacuous fan base.

They kind of let Rudolph get away though, didn't they?

Oh man, that B.S. about the nametag thing again? Really? If that kid had any legit interest in coming here, that whole thing would have been cleared up in 5 minutes and been a non-issue. IMO he used that as an excuse to bail out.

Wasn't he committed, and then he showed up for his ov and nobody knew who he was or something. Wrong name and position on his name tag and everything.

And then Al Golden punted Rudolph's dog off a bridge and said "here's what i think of your commitment."

I can't believe people bought that nonsense.

It's true it's a fail. You can't let the top players in south Florida leave again. Every year besides Golden's 1st is considered the greatest recruiting class of all time. Yet posters say we will lack depth next year when Duke and TH3 class will be juniors next year aka the former greatest class of all time. This class is better than all the others and its not full of 2 and 3 "hidden gems" which is good thing.
