Cook on Miami, playing with Yearby

just read his Cooks ESPN interview said
- he is committed to Clemson but "keeping options open"
- feels pressure from friends to go to Miami
- real strong relationship with the Miami coaches
- the two other schools that stand out for him are Florida and USC
- has a brotherly relationship with T Rob of Florida and the Florida offense fits his running style
- USC is where he wanted to go when he was a young kid

Yeah but mainly central/north fl, who was the last top notch sofl kid to go to USC, I guess Thomas almost went but I honestly cannot think of a kid who's actually gone
 
These HS RB's ought to know by now that being the feature back in college isn't the best way to get to the league healthy enough to make money with a long career.


The competition will make you better and keep your legs healthy.


Just look at Wisconsin RB's or Marcus Lattimore. Alex Collins will find out. He'll get run to death by Bielema and have all that wear and tear on his legs.

This isn't really true... If you're healthy and productive you'll get your shot... Bielema had two 1000 yard rushers a couple years ago... Most teams are opting to a running back by committee until a proven consistent ball carrier emerges... If you're on a roll the coach will continue to feed the player the ball... The only player to carry the rock a ton the last couple of drafts, is Marcus Lattimore but most of these guys emerged during their junior years or a year prior to getting drafted... At one point you want to prove that you're a 3 down player...
 
Which of Bilema's running backs have done anything worth noting in the NFL?

They all do work for Wisconsin while they're in Madison, but once they get to the league they flame out. They get worked too much. Look at Kevin Smith from UCF; that cat had like 800 carries in two years at UCF and never got going in the NFL.

Detroit also hasn't had a running game since Barry left... You can't blame that on him being over worked... Smith was getting killed in that Detroit backfield, just like Best... Regardless of the amount of carries if your o-line doesnt block you're going to get killed... I was never impressed with Wisky backs... They were a group of over achievers to me, he took the best prospects he could fine and were productive with thim... That being said, with the amount of olinemen he sends to the league, if he was to get an elite back Montee Ball's numbers would be the norm... If I was a running back, his offense would be a dream come true for me... Just like the U was in the early 2000's...

As I have already stated, the NFL wants 3 down backs... Running by committee is good but you want someone to emerge... The NFL wants to see guys who can play all 3 downs...
