Cook on Miami, playing with Yearby

Ironically enough, Cook showed up at the NFTC wearing a Miami Hurricanes hoodie, despite his pledge to Clemson. The hometown school also recently landed the commitment of Cook’s backfield mate Joseph Yearby. Cook admits the two teammates have discussed taking their talents to the same college.

“We’ve been talking about playing with each other for a long time, so I guess the time is coming, I don’t know,” Cook said of Yearby. “The [Miami] program could be a significant [program] if they get the guys, the talent they need in south Florida. It’s a great move for Yearby to do that. We’ve talked about it. Miami is a great place right now.”

At one time I know for a fact that Cook was thinking about leaving Miami Central for Miami Norland (to take over where Duke left off), because he wanted the ball more...

But for whatever reason, he stuck with Central, even though it kinda made sense for him to go be the feature back somewhere else, because he has that kind of talent. So, maybe someone at Central sold the guy on RB by committee...

Everyone seems to think he has a problem with the thought of sharing carries with Yearby, but if he did, he would have left Central.

The wild card in Cook's case is what Sony is going to do, IMO. FWIW, in any other year, I would have loved to have Cook & Sony.

But...beacuse we have Duke and Elder (speed backs), I don't have a problem with Yearby & Sony (durable backs)

You "don't have a problem" with getting 2 of the 5 best backs in the country? For real?

Reminds me of that bittersweet moment when you realize you won the Lotto, but the three bucks you spent on Powerball were a total waste ...

No emotions and did not mean to offend. Just making the point that I believe the many folks on here who speak of settling for "only" getting two of the three, should insterad consider how amazing it is to get any of those three, much less two.

There are also those that have been illuminated by the fact that there are certain types of Running Backs needed for the roster; not just a particular running backs because of rating.

Please enter "Eduardo Scat-Back Clement's" attempt to fill the role of a power back into evidence.

I just don't see Cook wanting to compete with Duke, Yearby and Sony for playing time. I'd be shocked if he came to Miami...

my head will explode if we get all 3 (cook, yearby, and sony)

That's assuming Sony comes, which is dangerous at this point IMO

Sony to me is so hard to read because i think UGA and UM are both great options but when it comes down to it if it really is that close in the end i think he picks UM because when he comes on campus Duke, Marshall and Gurley will be juniors and will leave in a year and already we will have Yearby that he will guarantee to compete with
