Confession

I just find it in my heart to root for FSU unless it directly benefits The University Of Miami.

rooting for FSU as a UM fan is as disgusting as pedophilia. The thought literally makes me feel sick.

I HATE Alabaga but ROLL MUCKA****IN TIDE !!!!!!

Well, then you were a **** fool andthere is no need to even continue this discussion with you, because you let your pride and this idea of "beating you chest" just to say "I won't root for FSU" get in the way of common sense. An FSU win in THAT game would've meant a national title for Miami. So in your super fan mind, an FSU loss iin that game was more important than a national title for Miami ---with **** near a sure fire shot at winning it back to back (we won it the next season). Tell me how that kind of midset/thought process makes any **** sense? It doesn't--- not in rational universe.

What kind of an ignorant dumbass doesn't know that that game was for the national championship? Whoever won that game, won the national championship. You don't know shįt about the canes, you don't know shįt about football, The best case scenario for you is to admit that you are just some shįtty example of a troll.

Because ignorance like this, makes you sound like some chick, or some flamer that doesn't know football and is trying to impress people with their knowledge. Sad and pathetic. Delete your account.

Haha. Calm down, man. It's not that serious

But for the record, the AP was talking about voting Miami national champions, because of the huge controversy, and there would've been a split title (despite the BCS). It was talked about for weeks leading up to those games, and after we handled Florida in the Sugar, many in the media were openly lobbying for Miami to split (if FSU were to beat OU). That's just the facts, brother. No, go back to beating your chest. You've got that right

No point in arguing with some of the retards on here. We obviously would've won the AP national title in 2000 if FSU beat Oklahoma.

People on this forum don't understand the value of a strong ACC. Which is ok, they don't have to. Rooting for one team or the other isn't going to change anything. But the marquee SEC teams losing and the marquee ACC teams winning benefits us when we are a 1 or 2 loss team looking for bowl game to play in. It also benefits us when ESPN is looking to hand out millions of dollars in TV deals. 5 years ago nobody wanted to touch this conference, and people are foolish to think that hurts us more in recruiting more than FSU winning another marquee OOC game.

Alabama is as big or maybe even a bigger threat to the elite recruits from SoFla. Just look at the 2018 class. Right now, when they talk about the possibility of players flipping, they're not talking about them flipping to FSU. They're talking about them flipping to Bama. Al Golden is gone. Our guys don't flip to FSU. Their players flip to us. As far as the FSU v. Bama game,

I'm not going to actively "root" for FSU, but I do understand how the transitive property plays itself out on social media and sports media. If Bama loses to FSU and and we beat FSU, then Miami>FSU>Bama, and that will be the narrative until proven otherwise. It is the narrative that will last into bowl selection season, and it is the narrative that will last into CFP selection.

Obviously, there is more than one way to achieve that narrative, most notably, Bama beats FSU, we beat FSU, and later beat Bama for the natty. I'm good with either scenario, and I'm not "rooting" for either team tomorrow night.

Yes, there's no guarantee in hypothetical situations. We were ahead of them in the AP for 7 straight weeks after we beat them, and the AP doesn't typically flip teams and is known not to give a **** about the BCS. Why are you obsessed with FSU? The thought of us gaining another national title seems to be replaced by what FSU is doing.

Here's what would have happened: FSU beats Oklahoma and then the voters (writers) would have taken into consideration the fact if they beat a very good Oklahoma team, where as we beat them by only three points on our field, and I guarantee you it would've been a unanimous title. End of story. They would have two straight national championships, and we'd be left out looking in. No thanks. I will never cheer or want FSU to win unless if they win, it guarantees us a playoff spot. So your example is a horrible example, there was no reason to want FSU to win that day. We would've still gotten screwed. We were already screwed when they didn't put us in the championship game.

You're just so far from the truth it's ridiculous. You're guaranteeing the writers would've flipped based on absolutely nothing. There's no precedent for it. The 2003 season is a prime example of what would happen if the polls conflicted. USC was ranked ahead of LSU and stayed ahead of LSU even though LSU won the BCS title game. You have zero reasoning for your "guarantee".

This! In the 2003 season we saw a split title with USC taking the AP and LSU taking the BCS.

We were ahead of FSU for 7-8 weeks in the AP, and had FSU handled business the AP title was all but ours. The AP, historically, don't flip teams, especially after convincing wins, and we blasted Florida by 17 points. ESPN and many in the sports media were pushing Miami for the split, because we were widely recognized by many as the best team at the end of the 2000 season, and because we had a solid lead over FSU in the AP. Writers and the media were practically handing Miami the AP title after we beat Florida convincingly in the Sugar, because most assumed FSU would beat OU

I watched the FSU/ OU game with a room full of Cane fans, and though conflicted, we all pulled for FSU to win that game so we could share the title

Miami "fans" wishing FSU had another national title.

You can't explain that.

And a side note, everyone just shut the **** up already about the AP title. That is not who holds the Crystal at the end of the year.

Just like you're guaranteeing the other result.

There were no guarantees. I'll take FSU not winning 2 straight titles than a possible AP "title", which in 2000 didn't mean what it meant before the BCS era. You need to read up on things. Had it been 1997, you'd have a better case. But the AP ship didn't mean shīt in 2000. There was no title to share, it was the BCS era.

I literally just said that there are no guarantees in hypothetical situations, you obviously didn't believe that. Now you do, good for you. Although us winning the 2000 AP title had FSU won the BCS title game is as close to a guarantee as you could get if you've followed AP voting for more than 10 seconds. USC claims their 2003 national title, so why wouldn't we claim 2000? I don't know why I get sucked into these retarded conversations.

That's BS. You don't have any idea what you're talking about. USC trojans AP title was recognized in 2003, and many were calling them back to back champs after they won the AP an BCS title in 2004.

The BCS tweaked their formula after the 2004 season to make it more difficult for a split championhip to occur

But rooting for Nick Saban is ok? Tell me you're not a Dolphins fan.

I am a diehard Dolphins fan, it's not "ok" and I never do unless he's playing the Gaytors or Semenoles. There are certain tiers of hatred.

Besides ...college football is simply more passionate which means stronger hatred.
