MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

I’m probably misremembering. Now that I think about it, I think the $45MM was what we were talking about the other day as the ACC average?
$45M is about acc payout. But that should be before the ACCs performance based distribution method that we should be top 1-5 in, and then the like $21M CFP bonus we earned .. which puts us actually at average B1G payout level

“We could have a player offered $20,000 by a business, [and] that player can’t just go do that — we have to report that to the [College Sports Commission],” Cherry said. “I’ve seen things where people are wondering why aren’t [players] going on and getting more NIL deals? Well, we got to get those approved, and the CSC could say, ‘No, that player’s value at North Texas is not maybe worth what a player at Texas or Texas Tech is worth.’”

That's why those Nebraska players are going into arbitration about their NIL deals being rejected by the CSC. It was obvious from the beginning that the CSC was just a mechanism by the NCAA and other power brokers in college football to reaffirm their draconian power grip on the sport by any other means necessary.

Remember the good old days when as a fan you were just concerned about winning on the field and making sure the Canes had the opportunity to play for a natty if they deserved it? Oh well.

Seems like a good time to mention this

Self-bumps are the best type of bumps...

Once we get clarity on certain issues (CFP expansion being one of the two biggest issues), then things will move very rapidly.

Josh off the top ring rope.

I love Josh, but I'm gonna have to disagree with him on this one point.

"Maximum participation" just means you try to cover everyone, including ND and G6, without causing the SEC to cry and pout over not getting 16 of the 24 slots.

As for losing the conference championship games, so be it. Originally, it was the 2 best teams in a 12-team conference, but if the P2 expands again (and having observed the obscene ACC tiebreaker in 2025), you could make the argument that the conferences should be having a Final 4 to crown a champ, which is just ridiculous.

Just crown a "regular season" conference champ and move straight to the CFP.
