MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Asking for my CFB 26 dynasty…… if you had to guess, ACC, BIG, or SEC…… where are we in the future?

SEC, to the surprise of everyone. I think they see themselves falling behind the B1G by quite a bit and survival depends on keeping the B1G out of Florida recruiting. We get full shares immediately, while B1G will try to make us take partial shares.

So it is being a hater to enjoy the run but not be satisfied or to be disappointed that in the biggest game in 25 years we basically played a half of football and lost due to similar self-induced mistakes that lost us games before?

More than one thing can be true at the same time, other than on CIS.

And -- this thread is about conferences -- it only went down this path because people said Indiana should be able to celebrate in whatever manner they want because they won.
Not at all my friend. Of course it’s disappointing to lose a Natty. I don’t think that’s considered being a hater. However some people are just really harping on the loss so hard they’re forgetting how non competitive we’ve been for quarter of a century and how we all thought playing in a Natty in 2025 or even making the field was impossible after SMU. But we won out and proved the doubters wrong, exposed the SEC phonies, knocked out the most talented team in the entire CFP field (Ohio State), and won two trophies and a lot of $. Yes, we didn’t win the big one but we were outplayed by a team who beat all but about 4/16 teams by 25-40 points the entire season. We have plenty to be proud of and a lot to look forward to. This is exactly what we’ve wanted all these years despite coming up just shy of a Natty. Those disappointed in the final game are justified in feeling this way and I don’t think they’re haters. Just taking what we’ve accomplished for granted a bit.

The frustrating thing is if Miami just sticks to the formula we win, even with all the mistakes .

No gimmicks, run the ball, don’t ask Beck to make difficult throws.

Oh well now I am just making myself angry again.

Right. When we lose, we beat ourselves and after 2 decades of self-induced incompetence, we came up short. I think we were the better team, but we just could not not beat ourselves - so it is frustrating. It was a good run, but frustrating.

Peterson putting off major Ben Simmons vibes.

The No. 1 prerequisite for an elite ballplayer is that thirst for competition.

This dude taps out more often than a fat kid running laps.

Safe bet that the GM who drafts Peterson is gonna blame these absences on his handlers.

That's BS, though.

He ain't got no dog in him. No real one can be parked on bench with a tummy ache or a finger cramp or some mess like that

Charles Barkley rips Ben Simmons for ...
Darryn Peterson misses another game for ...

I was tempted to say if the game was 5 minutes longer I guarantee 100% we would have won, but I don’t want to sound like an OSU or ND fan. I have to accept the loss for what it was.

Indiana was a very good football team. Very well coached. Made very little mistakes. BUT I still think we were the better team and let this one slip away. It's over, and it was a good run, but I still think it was ours to win and we missed the opportunity. Next!

Serious question... How do schools generate revenue for the golf team? Most of the other sports I can see how they would have tickets/concessions sales, maybe some attire, but how does Men's golf bring in the 4th most revenue with Women's right behind Men's?
Endorsements and tournament winnings, then addition by subtraction.
Probably the smallest number of student athletes per sport.
No or partial scholarships.

A lot of money in Golf, so probably wealthy donors and you can get endorsements for not only clothing but clubs, balls, bags etc.

Some Universities have golf courses, so they can make money off of user fees as well.

Just a guess.
