MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Honestly, do we know this? We’ve been undisciplined all season long. Our talent has been able to get us out of some of the games where we goofed hard. Indiana is certainly not more talented than us, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a disciplined team before. Their play execution on those two 4th and 5’s is what really did us in. I don’t care so much about the blocked punt. I argue that jump started our offense and changed the game plan to be more aggressive and it was working better than what we were previously doing. Some will say I’m stupid for saying this but hey, we’ll never agree on everything.

Let’s be real for a moment. We trailed Indiana the entire game. We were lucky to have a shot at the end because Indiana had the ball 3rd & 1 deep in our territory and a first down would have sealed it, but an uncharacteristic false start pushes them back, forces a FG, and gave us one more shot. Carson is not Cam Ward. He does not make good decisions through the air with the game on the line (see Louisville, SMU,for example). The chances of him throwing an INT to a defense who feeds off them on the final drive was relatively high. I just wish he’d have taken the shallow throws before airing it out for a big play that wasn’t there at all. Not even necessary in that situation.

If we were going to beat Indiana, we’d have had to have played a flawless game. Minimal penalties and 0 turnovers. We didn’t and Indiana made us pay. We had a couple calls go against us early but got away with a couple in the 2nd half and I’ll consider that a fairly called game. We were close, yes, 41 yards away. But had we won, it would have been a bit of a shocker considering we were down by 2 scores often throughout the game. Give Indiana credit. They earned that Natty.
Playing the first half would have helped. Indiana was very good, but we lost for a series of self-induced reasons from the Beck INT, to the missed punt block, to the approach for the first half.

Hard disagree on us needing to play a flawless game.

We had a lot of self inflicted mistakes in that game and it was only the last mistake that slammed the door shut.

We take our time and take the check down and win at the end, we would have won despite all the previous mistakes.

We had our chance at the end and we didn’t capitalize.

Won't be surprised if the Pac-8.5 brings in Sac State in a year or two in exchange for another hefty buy-in and no media rights share for a couple years.

The Pac-8.5 needs a ninth football school for scheduling purposes — and specifically one that adds to but doesn't subtract from the financial pie.

Can't imagine the likes of OSU, WSU, Boise and San Diego State are gonna settle for with a zombie Pac as long as they are holding out hope for a Big XII invite after the SEC and B1G put the ACC out of its misery. Might as well collect a few million from Sac State while they're waiting
