MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

I don't really care how we're treated and I just don't see that as a major issue. An extra $40mil a year takes care of that.

I could see the B12 making some extra in their next round of negotiations if they could add 2 or 4 big schools from the ACC. But they'd have to get:
Miami, FSU, Clemson, one of UVA, UNC.
I just don't see that happening. And even then they still wouldn't be close to to what the B1G and SEC are making..and they'll get a new contract a few years later as well and widen the gap again.

I don't foresee the B1G going out of their way to keep us down. We'd be a top 6 brand in their conference right now. And the only one in the South.

OSU
Mich
USC
Oregon
Penn State
Miami
UCLA

All their teams would want to come play in Miami, especially in November.

If we want to close the gap financially, our better bet is in the ACC and getting Clemson and FSU to return to national prominence and one other team to get there (VT, UNC, GT, UVA, SMU). That way when we go to the negotiating table again we can ask for more.

But we need at least 4 nationally prominent teams. That seems more likely in the ACC than the B12 to me.
I can easily see Miami, GT, FSU, Louisville and SMU in the B12

If we go to the B12 vs the B10 that's at least $20M a year less in revenue and more likely $30M+.

The fact this is even up for discussion is just silly.
Today. Not necessarily in the future. We’ll be treated like second class dog**** in the B1G. We’ll be prevented from cucking Wisconsin with the portal and we’ll get ****** scheduling and officiating compared to OSU, PSU, Michigan and the others. It could be worse than the ACC for us that way.

Do you guys think that the B1G powers that be would treat Miami the same as the others there?

OSU, Michigan, PSU

Wisconsin, Indiana,

Oregon, USC, Iowa

Miami

The majority of the scheduling is done by a random software program and isn't humans trying to **** with certain teams.

I understand the fear but we’re going to be treated as bad or worse in the B1G than where we’re at and I don’t see the SEC letting us in there.
"Treated bad"? We will be getting PAID P2 money vs what the ACC will have vs the next media contract in the B10 ... likely a $40M gap. Go big or you are screwed long term.

That would be an atrocious 2nd class citizen conference that falls behind the P2 by tens of millions every single year.

Guys, I’m good not agreeing with how we all see the B1G working out for us. You guys are certainly in the majority here and I get the pitfall potential in the B12. I think the B12 can evolve to a higher level and that we would benefit more there overall and you guys think there’s no way the b12 could evolve and catch up closer to the B1G financially. I assume you guys think we would be treated the same there regarding conference politics and refereeing and I don’t. I see trouble.

My guess is we end up in the B1G. We’ll see how it goes. I used to think we’d be better off in the B1G than the SEC. I see a lot of issues in the SEC as well but I think we’d get better refereeing and I think we’d probably be allowed to cuck the gator in recruiting without interference.

The B12 has no shot of ever being remotely close to the B10/SEC in money and that's the only thing that matters at this point.

Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF.

These are absolutely horrible second class teams, the worst travel experience, awful towns, and just dreadful TV appeal.

There literally is not a single team in that conference anyone would give a **** about playing.

The B12 has a great conference commissioner but he's is working with Hamburger Helper ingredients and the B10/SEC are working with Lomelo's wagyu.

I'd rather stay in the ACC than get involved in that slop of schools.

What if Miami FSU and 2 more ACC programs were in that group? It would be better than the ACC. I get it though, it’s an if.

The B12 currently makes less money than the ACC and has a ****tier group of schools both athletically and academically.

If we can't get into a P2 then we are going to be a dead man walking unless Joe E wants to allocate $50M a year from UHealth.

The B12 isn't the answer. Sticking with the ACC would be better than moving into that Section 8 apartment.

Texas Tech is decent now but once NIL settles in who the **** is going to want to play for TT when the money is roughly equal?

I don’t think it would stay at the current numbers if we joined and I think there would be others joining as well. But it won’t happen because unfortunately the school thinks the B1G is the golden child. Wait til we beat Wisconsin and Ohio State for recruits or get their guys in the portal. We’ll see how that goes when we’re under their thumb. Lol
Sadly, that's incorrect- we can't lift all that baseline ourselves, or even with clemson and fsu in tow. Those schools just don't draw enough to significantly close the gap even with those 3 brands, even if it might be more than acc, but then you have to also get big 12 to do an unequal rev share/success initiative.

notre dame all in deal with their share of acc plus nbc is around 70-75 million reportedly. That's. still far south of what big 10 schools will get at the last year or two of current deal.

that gap is not sustainable if you want to compete at level we do, even if you get all that playoff money year in and year out- remember going forward baseline as well big 10 schools get like 22M a year from playoff existing, ACC Big 12 around 13M

Lot of doomers in here going to be saying “oh I knew we’d end up in the P2 the whole time” lol meanwhile they’ve been swearing up and down we’re getting left behind lol
The thread is 4 years old. We are still in the ACC. Everyone knows there will be change, it is the being loud and wrong for going on 4 years that people are mocking. None of the peacocks originally predicted their Miami to the SEC, B1G, XII in 2027 or 28 or 30. They were dead wrong and are now circling back acting like they knew it all the whole time.

This. Please read from the beginning. People guaranteed movement by 2024, 2025, 2026. They were always wrong.

alternate theory- things were happening, other **** happened, things get delayed, adjusted.

You know- like real life. So no one should talk about anything here ever until it's done - should be an interesting board

btw we shouldn't also talk about the house settelement and revenue sharing either since no one has still voted from the member schools to not sue the CSC as part of the settlement. yet some parts are still happening. werid.. hmmmm
