MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

alternate theory- things were happening, other **** happened, things get delayed, adjusted.

You know- like real life. So no one should talk about anything here ever until it's done - should be an interesting board

btw we shouldn't also talk about the house settelement and revenue sharing either since no one has still voted from the member schools to not sue the CSC as part of the settlement. yet some parts are still happening. werid.. hmmmm
So Miami to the B1G/SEC/XII still... got it...

Because every peacock was very clear with the "We were headed to the ___, but then ___ happened, so I was wrong" --- nope... because if that was the case, no one would mock the honesty.

If we go to the B12 vs the B10 that's at least $20M a year less in revenue and more likely $30M+.

The fact this is even up for discussion is just silly.
Obviously, if we went it wouldn't be under the current financial situation. They would have to work a new TV deal and sweeten the pie for us.

I think this is fair and what likely happened, but people were saying it as if it was a done deal

Those teams don't move the needle anywhere near enough to get even close to the B1G or SEC in revenue.
True but the football is way better to watch in the B12 right now. I’m not looking at what it is today but what it can be with some ACC schools added in.

I get that we all don’t agree and that I’m in the minority on this here for certain. I think we’ll likely end up in the B1G so we’ll see how that ends up I guess.

I'm just trying to sincerely understand how you believe we'll mitigate at least a $20-30mil revenue gap every year and maybe even $40mil+. I just don't see that as a sustainable path forward. Even if the B12 attracts some other schools, they just don't have the viewership to demand much more from the TV networks in the next round of negotiations.

The thread is 4 years old. We are still in the ACC. Everyone knows there will be change, it is the being loud and wrong for going on 4 years that people are mocking. None of the peacocks originally predicted their Miami to the SEC, B1G, XII in 2027 or 28 or 30. They were dead wrong and are now circling back acting like they knew it all the whole time.
There’s definitely some of that. But also a lot of “why did we hire Rad?” “We’re sitting on our hands” “looks like it’s the Big12 for us” in here as well.

Because I think with additional schools with us, the gap will narrow.

I would love the B12. It’s not an insult to me it’s my preference. I think we’ll likely end up in the P1G

I get that, but the thread is 4 years old.

Rad -- "Radtirement Mode" still applies. Questioning what he does and his overall impact remains fair.

Sitting on our hands -- There was an ebb and flow throughout the lawsuit where people, even the biggest homers, questioned whether we should have gotten involved -- then of course when it worked out well, they returned acting like they knew it would all along. Up until about a month ago with football success, the adminstration deserved zero benefit of the doubt after 2 decades of incompetence --- be honest, if not for Mario adapting and the football run, another late season fold and there would be more questions than answers --- we will see how the Adidas / Nike deal plays out.

XII is a reasonable discussion - Do I think it is a Power 2? - No. Do I personally preferred it vs the B1G? No. BUT they appear well run vs the ACC. The ACC does us no favors. The XII appears rising vs. ACC dying. I think @Memnon and @RVACane raise fair points in the discussion. Miami fans will always have a victim mentality --- every other thread is that way -- so Tobacco Road vs. B1G Bullies vs. SEC Good Ole Boys -- we'll remain full of officiating tears for the foreseeable future... But the XII has no one entrenched, we'd all be outcasts or bad boys, but we would be the biggest brand by far.

It is likely Miami to the B1G - which is my preference for academics and athletics. I am not worried about dancing partners -- and if you listened to this thread, we've been a ****, we've had so many since the rumor mill started.

That's a lot of mental gymnastics and not how the money works.

The reason the SEC/B10 didn't expand beyond this last round is that each team added would have to bring in an incremental $100M+ annually to make the math work for the other members.

Not happening right now and definitely not in the B12.

Exactly what teams are way better to watch? Every team other than TT and BYU were mediocre or *** with no name recognition.

The B12 is a group of castoffs from other leagues with no marque brands.

Do you honestly think Miami would be treated the way Oregon and Blue Blood USC are treated?
Which conference members have been treated negatively by the B1G and how? Where is the example of this occurring in the past as a precedent for Miami in the future? I just don't understand the fear.

Would there be difficulties just in the fact Miami is over a 1,000 miles from the nearest conference opponent? Sure, but that's due to distance, not a B1G conspiracy.

I don't see why the B1G, $EC, or any other partner would mistreat a new asset. It would be self-defeating to the conference as a whole to consciously make it more difficult for any of its members to compete.

And as far as the "blue blood" title goes around, Miami's blood is definitely a shade of blue at this point. 5 NCs, played for about 5 others in the past 40 years. I'll take being in the national title argument once every 4 years during that time span. In fact, if Miami didn't have that background, they wouldn't be in the conversation to begin with.

I’ll give you OSU for JJ Smith but you like watching Michigan, Iowa, Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland and Michigan State??? Id much rather watch BYU, TTU, TCU, Houston, Okie State, ASU, Arizona and Baylor
