South of Macon to the Florida border is a large amount of real estate with very few population centers. Same with upper NE Georgia. Canton to Helen is a whole lotta nothing.

Yeah, and Macon itself is pretty bleak now.

Canton isn’t nothing though. I live in Forsyth County, very close to Canton (I could walk my my house and be in Canton limits), and wish they would slow down with the amount of growth up here. Once you get above Dahlonega, yes, it is nothing. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was all gone in 20 years because the growth in north GA has been so great. They have even been working on a project for a hockey arena here in Forsyth County, so they can get a new NHL team here. It’s annoying. I like that I can see the mountains from my porch, but I’m only 45 minutes from Atlanta. I don’t want a **** NHL team down the street.

I lived in Cartersville for two years, just west of you. When my daughter was younger we used to rent a house in Big Canoe every summer or fall.

Nice! I just love that whole area. I think that area will survive, since it’s more centralized between 75 and 400. The 400 expansion up in Dawson County is what is going to hurt. It needs it though. Two years ago, the 45 mile trip to Helen took us almost three hours with all the traffic, and it wasn’t even rush hour or anything special going on.

JFC, if the dude would quit fiddling with his nose and had fewer than 50 friendship bracelets on his wrist, he might have seen how stupid his analogy was since Nebraska was brought in by the B1G.

Dude on the right is a Big12 homer and the dude on the left is an FSU homer.

Having said that, there is just as much argument for the Big12 teams to jump ship into the ACC as his reasoning for Miami to go Big12.
