MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Big and ACC each have 18 teams 928.1 and 711.4 total 🟰 51.6 per BiG team and 39.5 per ACC team. That’s 12.1M difference. And for right now SMU isn’t taking a share so it’s probably closer to 10. My question is will the new rev share deal that Miami, FSU and Clemson get enable us to claw back that 10-12 M or at least a big portion of it?
One slight correction re: ACC payout:

Per-school payouts: Ranged from $43.1 million to $46.4 million, except for Notre Dame, which received $20.7 million.

I know his shows are super long and can drag on but he had some interesting information today. Highlights I took below:

BIG has the following preferences:

UNC + 1
ND + 1
Miami + 1

SEC has the following preference:

UNC + 1

He thinks UNC is more likely to go SEC and take UVA with them. He says UNC is fielding calls from other schools but uva seems to be the one hitching its wagon to them.

He says Miami is likely fielding calls from other schools trying to hitch their wagon to us to b10. He says Miami + FSU to b10 could happen but it would be Miami carrying fsu not the other way around.

Was adamant that fsu + clemson to b10 together will never happen. States that Miami had sponsors within the b10 - Michigan and Wisconsin do very similar research and want Miami in. States that those schools pushed for AAU admittance for us because of shared research goals. Says there’s a chance that Clemson and fsu go to sec if that’s what it takes for unc to go to the sec.

Take it with a grain of salt but found it interesting.

I don’t think anyone is going anywhere until the Super Conference gets formed in 2030-2031 timeframe.

If this is true, then FSU isn’t in as good of a position as they think they are, meaning that they may not get the $$$ they are hoping for if / when they do join a new conference. They seemed to think they were in high demand and could get in a bidding war between the SEC and the Big 10, but the more information we get, the less likely that seems true. And if they have another losing season (their 4th in Norvell’s six years), that would not help.

Interesting that UNC can be so mediocre at football and yet be so desired. I guess the state just peaked at the right time for population growth, since Florida and Georgia are full now. 🤣 I kid, but it’s annoying.

Miami + Boston College to B1G.

Blake James is an evil mastermind...you can't handle his masculinity.

Bet *******.

It sure looks like fsu overplayed its hand but I’m not complaining though since it gave us the dollar amount needed to leave and motivated the ACC to pay the teams with higher viewership more $.

Flugar doesn’t bat 1000 but no one does and in my opinion he’s more reliable than that genetics m*ron. The one thing that I tend to agree with Flugar most is that yes network dollars is king but relationships matter too. And it seems like we have strong support from quite a few b10 schools while fsu seems to have turned them off with how they handled themselves with other ACC members.

But do we have enough Big 10 schools? He only mentioned a couple. Is it enough?

And one that he mentioned was Wisconsin…I thought they wanted to sue us? 😉🤣

Lol, they were, at least according to Genetics, who said they were going to keep us out of the B1G for breaking a "gentlemen's agreemnt" or something like that. Of course, since he also repeatedly stated the B1G was never going to invite UM, not sure how this latest twist meant anything, but logic and critical thinking aren't his strengths.

Genetics will say anything to rile up his new cult of Nole slurpers.

North Carolina has been tracking with GA for population growth for two decades and has grown even faster recently. Expected to surpass GA in early 2030s. NC also fuller than GA (higher population density). UNC is an elite university and is successful in all sports for the most part except for football. I can't stand them. But it is what is.

Interesting! I live in GA and didn’t realize NC’s population density was higher. SC seems to be starting to fill up now too.
