MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Almost like I made this thread years ago saying this league was dead.

And I don’t want any flowers. I’m not smart. It’s clear as ****. But hopefully now years later there is ZERO misunderstanding.

ASK yourself.

With such an OBVIOUS existential crisis, what did Miami do about ot? History showed FSU and CLEMSON tried to control their destiny. We sat and let the destiny DICTATE us

UNC, MIAMI, VIRGINIA, GA TECH join the lawsuit- the league crumbles. Instead we said “oh let’s just see what HAPPENS- we’re good little QUIET girls they’ll pay us back for all the tight lip blowies!! Don’t want to pound any tables” What happened? We got JACK **** but a free Happy Meal, and bend like a pretzel saying how we played this AMAZONGLY

So purgatory till 2030. Plenty of STRUCTURAL brand damage done to CLEMSON MIAMI and FSU. Come 2028, were Miss State level not even ole Miss. it’s going down just like COLLEGE BASKETBALL was this NCAA TOURNAMENT. Acc top 3 will not even be top 10 in the SEC

So, who do you want Miami to be?

- Adriana Chechik
- Sasha Grey
- Animale
- Deanna Dearmond
- Tori Lane (who is from Ft Lauderdale btw)
- Valentina Nappi

What level of dirty girl are we talking here?

If you don't believe behind the scenes talks have been going on between UM and the B10 conference ... don't know what to tell you. VERY doubtful things are held off until 2030. The roadblock to change at the moment is the House Settlement. Nobody does anything until that is finalized. Once that is done .... the teams projected by way too many pundits are .... UNC / UVA / FSU / Clemson (SEC likely) ... and Miami (B10) with either ND or Ga Tech. Could be as early as the 2027 season. Question is ... how long after that does it take for the "NFL lite" new league to form .... 2030-2031?

You have to realize that we have been hearing not 2036, but 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026 -- now it is not 2030, but maybe 2029, 2028, 2027... and Miami matched with:
- ND -- AAU
- Clemson - Radtastic relationship with aD
- FSU - FL rival partners
- GT - Never kneel

GT has not been mentioned until like a month ago, previously people had them banished to the minor leagues...

So yea.. the behind the scenes are always going on... but the perception that an awful historic administration is somehow playing AI Driven 4-D Chess... and that we will hear about it in this thread --- is just proven false for 3 years and growing...

Miami to the B1G, SEC, XII... but still in the ACC ...

Facts are a lot of progress has been made. FSU / Clemson winning that law suit ... basically forcing the ACC to admit their lies ... was THE huge first step. Now the house settlement is another roadblock to any action. Once THAT issue is resolved "things" will start happening. IF Sankey finally makes his move (2-4 schools) then Miami should be officially on the clock.

For arguably the biggest move of the University's history, Miami should have been on the clock when Texas and Oklahoma were on the clock... but we were playing 52 pick up while they were playing Risk...

For all we know, they have been and continue to be working on this, quietly. FSU isn't any closer to a B1G or SEC invite now than they were 2 years ago, when everyone said they would be entering the B1G this fall. The draft stated our case pretty well- the no. 1 pick overall and tied for 4th or fifth most drafted players despite not being in the big 2 conferences. Keep winning, keep getting the good ratings, and we will be wanted.

Everyone is "working on it"... does not change that we are still in the ACC

Miami and ND getting simultaneous AAU approval was a sign that UM has been vetted and approved by the B10. Now it is all about timing.

This was my exact thought also. I am literally counting the days for us to be in the same conference as Notre Dame. If we can somehow figure out how to keep the Miami-FSU rivalry alive and be in a conference with ND, I will be an infinitely happy guy.

According to some, we were on our way, but Oregon and Washington blew the Prom King while we were getting ready behind the scenes ...
Oregon and Washington had no ties to a pimp (ACC) who would make them pay hundreds of millions to go. Miami may have gotten the invite if they were in the same situation as Oregon and Washington. Of course, they'd have to agree to take pennies on the dollar like Oregon and Washington did.

Texas and OU, as well as USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington basically didn't have a GOR to deal, meanwhile ours still extends another decade. It's like conflating Checkers with Chess. Yeah UT and OU were able to move much earlier when they had an infinitely easier path. It's as simple as that, it's an unequal playing field to say we should have been on the clock when they were.

Also Very few at all were saying we were leaving before 2026. That would probably have been talked about as best case, how it was what the wish would be, and perhaps how it could be possible/accomplished, but not reporting that was going to likely be the case.

Ultimately with how the settlement has turned out, I think ultimately Miami is going to get out of the ACC likely within a year or 2, of what the likely best-case-scenario plan would have been. And FAR more importantly, it seems like that timeline will come true and we'll have to spend drastically less money to do so. And obviously a lot of factors played a role in the timeline, like the PAC completely imploding, like the House settlement/case, like CFP expansion... Like our GOR that goes until 2036...

show me ONE national pundit that has MIAMI to B1G prior to 2030

with us moving? Sure on a long enough timeline, we’re all going to DIE too. But that one dude nailed it. The one YOU ALL clowned on. We’re trapped till 2030 and our admin is maneuvering like it.

But the Oregon stopped us, house stopped us, our football attendance, our dedication to football . Holding onto AAU as your sole HOPE is reading into something. You’re telling me our admin ONLY wanted AAU for conference realignment? FSU going for it and failing was for THEIR SEC overlords? AAU is any academic schools goal. You can’t read into it as anything OTHER than a single check the box on a multitude. Otherwise you’d be saying USF to B1G. So AAU doesn’t mean anything on a standalone BASIS

Bama boosters Big Mad.
