MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

Unless Manny can give us an actual quote, I'm going to remain dubious. It should not go unnoticed that is has been obvious that DanRad aside from the standard AD speak when interviewed has been fairly quiet on this subject.

Eerily similar to the "Oregon-UDub to the B1G" playbook.

"We're happy to be members of this historic conference. We look forward to the Pac-12 being even more successful for many years to come."

Meanwhile, in reality land: lay low, avoid media interviews, recite the party line above if necessary. Just remain patient and wait for the B1G commissioner to give the signal.

When it comes - GTFO

If the ACC is going to add Stanford and Cal, they they should go ahead and add Oregon State and Wash St. Why? Cuts down on travel costs. Leave those 4 as the "western" pod and then thereby reducing the number of cross country trips the teams have to make. Especially for non revenue sports.

Why are you trying to put scotch tape on the Titanic?

Yes, but that might not take into account that (APPARENTLY) at least Stanford and SMU are willing to join the ACC "for free" or for a very low revenue share (though Cal has bigger problems, due to a MAJOR need for cash to pay its stadium financing obligations).

I know this gets forgotten sometimes...

But the STARTING point for conversations is whether a school will be admitted as a full-share member. Once Washington and Oregon offer to join the Big 10 for half-shares or Stanford-SMU offer to join the ACC for free, all bets are off.

The mathematical reality is that, yes, TECHNICALLY Stanford and SMU could enrich the ACC by increasing BOTH the ESPN "total payout" and "average payout" (assuming they take zero). However, those factors will no longer be in play the NEXT TIME we negotiate a TV deal. So, yeah, just kicking our problems down the road a bit.

At this point, there is no "let's save a few bucks on travel costs" by adding Oregon State and Washington State. Let's just say the quiet part out loud. The only chance those two schools have of joining the ACC is if they come in for free.

Manny reading too literally. UM is All ACC and supports adding those three as long as the status quo stays in place. This scenario is not highly likely.

He's an easy puppet.

He's also just pounding the table that this is a 6-7 win team because it's easier to spin more wins than expected by saying the young guys and transfers made huge improvement and growth versus saying its a 10 win team and trying to explain our shortcomings.

He knows nothing about anything. He wants the clout to say I told you so when things go badly or the unpopular opinion is reality. Hope he's proven wrong on both and people shred him for it.

he may be right that it could be another 7 win season, but I think hes being cautious there given how miami always underperforms.

he already gets called a boot licker so to speak for making excuses for coaches.

regrading the conference stuff, he was told to put this messaging out there from UM. thats the info he got bc thats what UM wants out there.

Fat Manny called the Miami administration a “**** show” when the New Mexico AD “turned down” Miami

He’s like Ron Burgandy reading whatever is on the teleprompter

He loves to kick Miami when they're down and say told you so.

Never once does he say he was wrong. He's always right but then something extraordinary happened out of the blue that made him wrong... inexplicably.

Manny Navarro is cartoonishly wrong here. Miami views adding Cal and Stanford to the ACC as a solution to not getting enough media rights money?! Absurd. He needs to go fishing with his sources for additional details that would even make that pass the sniff test.
Manny’s sources would never take him fishing. He would eat all the fish.
