Complaint against our players by AppState Color Guard

Reminds me of when Michelle Fields got raped and murdered by Trump's campaign manager at an event.

And lulz at those who believe these App State students are racist hillbillies... quite the contrary.

Broooo, "APPALACHIAN" appears in the name of their school. They might be pretending to be what they think is "progressive" while on their junior college campus but there's no way in **** that many many of these clowns don't come from hilljack backgrounds. That actually makes them the embodiment of the worst aspects of both ends of the political spectrum.
Hilljacks in NC dont go to college...haha. But seriously, Boone (like Asheville) is a shining red pearl in an otherwise 'hilljack' part of the state.

Gotcha. Although I'd still say that a significant portion of their student body while attracted to these pearls weren't exactly raised in said locations but I digress. Must be sad to be a progessive and not be able to get into any of the real universities in the rest of the state that are "respected" liberal hotbeds. Probably makes you angry enough to lash out at an opposing athletic program disirregardless of truth.

Here's a video of the Canes taking the field (from the press box) posted by Matt Porter on Twitter. I watched it numerous times and could not see anything there that even remotely resembles the alleged incident. As far as I can tell none of our players even seem to break stride as they run through the color guard nor does anyone in the App State CG even seem to react in any abnormal way to our players as they pass by. Looks like total BS to me..

After watching the video it's easy to see what happened. Whoever organized the lineups and times is at fault here. There is no reason their color guard should have been that close to the entrance at the time or Miami should have been told to wait a few more moments. And their band was pretty much taking up the entire field, they gave their school about 25 yards of open space to run through but they expect 90+ people to run through about 4 yards?

But it's obvious that this is common with them as the girl said "Typically, the opposing football team will make an effort to run around us". But this is the first time they have had a real football team enter their stadium, it may be your stadium but on that day that's our side of the field, stay the **** out of the way. Welcome to big boy college football. The minor league teams you are used to hosting might put up with that crap but we came to win, get out of our way, you don't need the entire freaking football field.

So it's easy to see what happened. Welcome to big boy college football. They were disorganized and are not used to the size, scope, and readiness of a major football team. A couple of people probably got brushed, ran in to, or heard our players say they were about to beat them down. Commence beat down 45-10 and this is what you get, butt hurt fans online.

I hope this message I found from a band of distinction member finds its way to those in the athletic office. IF this happened, and I'm sure there were enough cameras to catch some of this mess, something needs to be said...

I'm certain Mark Richt would not put up with this...

"Today was a weird day. Appalachian played University of Miami in Boone this afternoon, and unfortunately it was a loss for the Mountaineers.
I want to start out by saying that I know that Color Guard isn't viewed highly of by the common individual, let alone most individuals. It's a thing that I enjoy doing, and I've grown a thick skin in regards to how it's viewed. I've learned not to care; however, I do care deeply about my fellow color guard section members, and will not tolerate being outwardly disrespected.
For the end of our marching band's pregame show today, the color guard was lined up in groups on the back sideline as well as 8 steps in front of the back sideline. Typically, the opposing football team will make an effort to run around us as we spin to our fight song, apologizing if they get in our way or make an effort to avoid us completely. Today, Miami's football team decided to blind side one of our members on the corner of the field. She was shoved by several very large, intentionally aggressive, football players. No apologies were made regarding this incident, and the member who was hit had severe pain and had to sit for most of the game. I turned around just as this was happening, and was immediately furious and upset. Leaving the field, I thought that this was the only incident that occurred. It turns out that several other members were groped, sworn at, taunted, and touched in ways that were definitely not asked for.
I will not tolerate events like this occurring. This is 2016, and I will not tolerate excessive cat calling, harassment, and violence towards others, especially without due cause. I will not sit back and allow this to happen because I am a woman or because "it's all in good fun". At its simplest form, it's assault, and I will not tolerate it.
I was told repeatedly today that Miami's team is notoriously scum, but that is no reason to sit back and let this happen. I can't even imagine how many other events similar to this one have occurred. I know the likelihood of this event gaining attention is very slim, because at the end of the day, we're "just the color guard". I want to call attention to the fact that this is unacceptable, but ultimately I'm unsure of the next steps to take. It's worth trying.
On a more positive note, I was on ESPN today because I decided to walk behind an interview and make a weird face.

Chick sounds like a dumb c*nt who needs a broken 2 iron shoved up her ***.

THIS should be Blake's official statement. And then cancel their game here.

I won't even bother giving these "allegations" credence by discussing them. I'm more concerned about why the **** the color guard is lined up right in front of the visitor's entrance? GTFOH. I pin this squarely on the band director. Is the visiting team supposed to tip toe around the team of flag wavers you place right in front of their entrance? Even at a high school game, the home team keeps it's band/cheerleaders/whatever towards their own sideline.

I mean they are on our sideline for our entrance, not sure what they expected. Our boys see that as a disrespect and rightfully so ran right through that crap. So some trash talking and a few people getting bumped into probably did happen, which after a beat down gets escalated into "groping". FCS potatos might put up with that crap. If we did that to FSU I'd fully expect them to run right through it, taunt us, knock a few people over, etc.

Seriously, da ****? After watching that video, their band gives them half of the field to run out on, and leaves us no room. With that said, nothing ******* happened. If they think a couple of players running in between their pathetic band is criminal, they can go **** themselves. I wish we would have met them on the field like we did Texas in the 1990 Cotton Bowl.

For God's sake, end this thread. This is nothing. Their own fan site has like 12 posts on this topic. Us? Approaching 150.

And what the **** is a color guard?

I actually thought she meant a colored guard and was about to go off. After reading it they want to consider getting the **** out of the way. People there for football not some wack *** corny fake military unit.

The color guard member is secretly a football player crying because he got his *** thrown around. Probably Marcus Cox when he was slammed in the endzone and never returned.

Okay, full disclosure - I'm a band guy. My degree from UM is in music and I have worked with college marching bands throughout the country at Miami, Georgia, and now at Jacksonville State in Alabama. I know exactly what "color guard" is and I have spent most of my professional life protecting the interests of band geeks everywhere.

That said, beyond the possible initial shove by a player while taking the field, there is absolutely no way to quantify the allegations of "groping, swearing, taunting, and touching." If these are allegations toward the football team, there's no way in **** any band member should be anywhere within "groping distance" of a football player, even during pregame. If they are, that's on the director and to a lesser extent, the home team's AD or Associate AD who work the logistics of field placement out weeks in advance. EVERYTHING from 2 hours prior to kickoff until post-game is scripted in terms of where to be and where not to be - I know because I've written some of the scripts - so if there was a collision, somebody on App State's side screwed up. This isn't Cal-Stanford where the band hangs out wherever they want.

I will always be a "band guy" - they work harder for less recognition than anyone realizes. That said, this story reeks of revisionist sore loser-ship at best, and outright bull**** at worst.

End rant.

great stuff guy

If true the proper way to address this is between the two universities. You sound like a snowflake, go to your safe space.

Looks like a few players ran in front of some band members and some then ran back behind them. It's a non-incident.
