Listen they both suck as coaches but the comparisons stop there. Shannon did not recruit the last couple of years and left this team depleted, if someone comes in and takes over now they have some real talent to work with. Golden reminds more of Shula at Bama.

This. I've been saying it since earlier this year. Yeah theirs questions at DT. But their is a talented football team here you have to be blind not to see it.

We strike now. Yeah we lose some money but the money to be made by actually winning is worth cutting him loose.
 
Only difference is their skin color. And this is the only reason Al won't be canned.
 
To be real Shannon was a better recruiter. All of UM best players in Golden's tenure were Shannon players and most made it to the NFL.

Money is not the issue. We're not poor either. We choose not to spend because our ADMIN is full of ***** who have no idea how to run an athletic program.

Also, "ghostoftruth" is a massive troll. No real Cane fan would say "golden has brought us back from the dead". He brought us back to where we started: half a dozen losses and non-competitive in the ****** worst division in FBS.

Shannon had much tougher OOC conference skeds to deal with.

If Golden isn't canned, I'll happily play the race card.

AL Golden is no better than Shannon. Shannon beat FSU, beat a double digit win team. There were plenty of NFL players when Golden took over, including to this day, Walford, Feliciano and many more who are in the league. If Golden is so much better and fill the team so much more talent what is the excuse for last night. Some of you Golden gaggers have no shame. Please immerse your heads in a toilet bowl and stop posting

Shannons 2008 UM team is also better than any Golden UM team.

That team would embarrass Golden with a bunch of true freshman

Most talent rich recruiting area in the country. Talented roster. Clearly there isn't a ton of pressure from the administration to win within the first couple years. What's not to like? A banner? Ain't no real coach going to be scared about a banner or what some peons on a message board say about him.
