Committee is HEDGING…..

The only way any of this is true is for the show, the drama and ratings….because it makes zero logical sense.
A part of me wants to believe this when he made a comment about we’ll see what we “rerank the entire top 25 next week” but I can see us moving to 11 and then only shuffling bama and ND around

Do you guys not understand what the committee just did?

They just protected Alabama in case they lose vs Georgia, they will then have a spot to drop them down to. ND will then move back up to where they were.

They are not going to leave ND out for Miami, IMO. I obviously will be happily shocked if it happens.

I would’ve preferred to have seen ND jump Oklahoma and then Miami move up to #11. That would’ve told me that Alabama would be in danger still.
Between Saban and Sankey they’ll do anything to see that Alabama gets in.

Why are you so convinced the H2H win over Notre Dame will only come into play if we are 10 and 11? They stated a couple of weeks ago that it comes into play when they're in the same pool, which they are in now (9-12). They are already taking H2H into account and preparing to **** us anyways.
Notre Dame is out. If BYU wins they are out and if BYU losses they are out. They will just allow things to play out.

Moving them down was the clue. No way will they use head to head for every team except Miami

There’s an additional element yall are missing.

1. BYU has to lose.

2. Bama has to beat Georgia handedly IMO so they stay ranked above ND, while also giving Texas a worse loss on their record (since they lost to Georgia).

If Georgia wins, it risks sandwiching Bama between us and ND, preventing any chance of a H2H comparison.

My confidence is low that Bama will win. They’ve been a bad team the last 4 weeks.

If Georgia blows them out, maybe the discussion changes about keeping them in, but then it makes Texas’s loss to Georgia even stronger, and more funny business possible, to keep a 5th SEC team in.

When the committee ranked Bama ahead of ND, it was to protect Bama in case they lost or lost big.

That door, to me, is now shut. The committee has said in the past they won’t punish teams for losing in a conference Final.

I was on the root for Georgia train. Now, it’s a root for Bama train so that the scenario you state of head to head comparison comes to fruition.

BYU will get their doors blown off by Texas Tech. Not worried about them and if they upset TT somehow, then it’s over.

It will also help Miami’s case if Duke wins. The committee will feel extra pressure to put in an ACC team as it’s a P4 conference. The ACC did this to themselves, but the committee will still feel the pressure.

This is all buffoonery by a bunch of corrupt bureaucrats. Not a single person has articulated in writing or via interview of how Miami and Notre Dame are ranked in the way that they are.

They seemingly have a defacto disqualification process.

3rd regular season loss in SEC/B1G
2nd regular season loss in ACC/BigXII
G5 participants must win conference.
3rd loss for Notre Dame (this team lost to Northern Illinois last year and they were let in easy)

2 loss regular season ACC/BigXII team getting in is going to be rare as an at-large.

One thing I've noticed is nobody mentions defensive metrics. Maybe it's because ours are off the charts. It's also impossible to watch that first game and deny the fact that we whooped them so badly upfront. Then we ended the season by whooping Pitt badly upfront. I'd like to believe, but literally nothing has worked out in our favor the last three weeks
