Add to that he is the best db recruiter in the nation...

He'd be smart to come here with coach Kool coming here. I'm sure he makes it easy on any secondary coach with the pressure his line gets

Didn't know he was a DC before. Even though it was at small programs he at least has some experience with it.

Corey Raymond is like a Trob with better coaching abilities if you compare their recruiting abilities.

Has this guy been groomed to be a DC? What qualifies him over Coach Kool?

Anybody know anything about his coaching acumen?

I was told he wanted a 90-100k raise from lsu, and he's been contact with UM. I actually posted that in one of his threads here last week.

I wouldn't expect either to call plays . Kool is a DL coach. They might give Raymond the " co " title but he'll coach db's. That's just my opinion

I can't imagine any of the LSU coaches have any leverage to negotiate raises. I think the LSU admin probably hopes Miles has an epic failure of a season next year, to justify their attempt to fire him this year. And if Miles lost some coaches, that would probably help their cause.

Not sure I'd want Raymond as Co-DC.... Cut the Co-DC altogether. Just hire a **** DC.

Sure seems to hurt Michigan State and TCU

How does the Co-DC work? I'm confused as to how you actually decide who calls the plays game day, what happens if they disagree with something, who decides on offering recruits, is it really 50-50 split? Not saying it wouldn't work, just confused as to how it works.
I don't know how it works everywhere, but at TCU, for instance, one DC will call the defensive front (blitzes/stunts/etc) and the other will call the secondary's coverage scheme behind it. It's an interesting way to go about it...to add another bit of nuance to it, the DC calling the coverages might call one coverage for one side of the formation and a different one on the other side, so you might have a hybrid man-zone coverage which makes pre-snap reads for the opposing QB an absolute bytch.

See this article that has, indeed, been posted here numerous times: Hard Knocks: Playing Defense With TCU?s Gary Patterson «

I thought patterson called the defense? or is he just over the broad scheme

Richt has made it clear he's hiring a DC and turning that side of the ball completely over to him so he can go all in with his offense.

I doubt it'll be a secondary coach. He's shown he's not ******* around with the hiring of Kul. This DC will be an established coach. I'm hoping we give Raymond a raise and steal him to coach DBs, though.
