No.

According to CiS, he’s the only good college FB coach. Period.

I think there are many good coaches out there not named Kiffin or Franklin.
The problem I see with Florida is that it was not too long Napier was regarded by many
as a "can't miss" coach, on the rise, who won alot of games at Lou-Lafayette and who
also had elite recruiting reputation at Alabama.
He was a "can't miss" and he failed.
Now Florida is scared of hiring another coach with similar reputation.

I’m talking more about fan reaction than anything. There are good coaches that don’t have the name recognition but will be under scrutiny from day one and won’t get much of a leach from the fanbase because they are not Lane or Franklin.

Also Eddie George at Tennessee State, DeSean Jackson at Delaware State and, going way back, Steve Wilson (Howard), Doug Williams (Morehouse,Grambling), Stump Mitchell (Southern), Ken Riley (FAMU)....HBCUs having always been an entry for aspiring minority coaches. It's too bad the HBCUs as a whole don't do more collectively to cultivate this field.

HBCUs need to put a lil more funding into their programs. I'm a HBCU college player...chose to attend one over other offers because my dad went to one and always made me study hbcus and watch the classic games so i wanted the experience too. But man in terms of just the basics...it sucked. And this was 20+ years ago.

It will be interesting to see how Vandy/Clark Lea fares after Diego Pavia finally move on. They were not really doing much until Pavia and his offensive coaches Tim Beck and Jerry Kill came aboard from New Mexico State.
