Coaching Coaching Carousel 2025-26 - Not Miami Related

Uconn needs a real good hire to keep that momentum rolling.

Mora put them back into it foreal. U conn shocked me this year

It sounds funny to say, but he has built a program that I'm sure many of his coaching colleagues respect and probably not look forward to playing them because they may not be big or athletic, but are tough and well-coached. Miami (Oh) is similar in that regard, IMO.

Love to see it.

Hopefully he can bring some respectability back at southern and improve it. Doing similar to what Deion did at JSU.

Also Eddie George at Tennessee State, DeSean Jackson at Delaware State and, going way back, Steve Wilson (Howard), Doug Williams (Morehouse,Grambling), Stump Mitchell (Southern), Ken Riley (FAMU)....HBCUs having always been an entry for aspiring minority coaches. It's too bad the HBCUs as a whole don't do more collectively to cultivate this field.

Lane is going to leave someone so ****ed lol

If it’s LSU, UF has no natural move. If it’s UF, nobody left is going to make LSU happy.
A lot of quality coaches are out there and a lot of established coaches are putting out feelers to these programs! Once the season is over there will be a lot of movement

Is Lane the only good college FB coach who is potentially available?
Of the known top tier guys available yes, now that Franklin took the VTech job. Are their good coaches out there of course but Florida and LSU fans will not be happy with anyone not named Kiffin. There is always a chance that a surprise out of nowhere comes along but nit likely.

Mora is a weird dude & yet vastly exceeded expectations at UConn. Will be tough to sustain. Limited recruiting base & fan interest. Decent jumping off spot for energetic young coach.

I guess with the 12 team playoff, it's better to be at a place like Indiana and Missouri where the expectations aren't as absurd while they still pay you market rate.

I understand that football coaches have egos but honestly have no idea why Lane would leave a near perfect situation at Ole Miss.

I think there are many good coaches out there not named Kiffin or Franklin.
The problem I see with Florida is that it was not too long Napier was regarded by many
as a "can't miss" coach, on the rise, who won alot of games at Lou-Lafayette and who
also had elite recruiting reputation at Alabama.
He was a "can't miss" and he failed.
Now Florida is scared of hiring another coach with similar reputation.

Right. LSU is in the same boat. So, they both will likely overspend.
