COACHING/ADMIN UPDATES MEGGGGAAAAAAATHREAD

probably let him finish the season and then let him go. he wouldn't be involved in any new hire. BOT athletic committee , search committee or someone else would take that on.. Just my thought.
No elite hc is coming near miami unless a new ad is hired and assurances from admin that football is going to be a priority. otherwise rinse and repeat but stop taking coaches from temple

No one is arguing that. you aren't hiring a new coach in the middle of the season anyway. anyone you would want to talk to are currently employed. They won't fire Blake mid season - he still oversees other sports, etc. I don't see it. Manny may be let go any time, an interim named and some kind of search process started. Just like USC is doing now. Blake could be quietly let go at the end of the fall sports.

The class is not going to be saved by keeping Diaz around.
Nah I think it can be..manny could be a dead man..but a dead man whose still recruiting and selling early PT etc. it’s appealing to HS kids..but if evident as we go on and the class falls..then u can fire him then..that’s kind of my point. You don’t have to fire him now. And you can still feel out the landscape to find your guy with him in place to finish out conference play.

You want to know how you fix alot of the academic problems. Get yout athletics to be great. Kids want to come to schools who have great teams. Just go look at the applications for enrollment at Bama since Saban for there. Look at FSU when Jimbo was there and since they started sucking. It's pretty easy to figure out.
PREACH BROTHA!

Why can’t they figure this chit out! As an example: I was actually accepted to go to SC in 1999, but couldn’t/didn’t want to pay that high *** student loan. At that time, SC absolutely sucked as a program; if u had the GPA & SAT score, although it was a challenge, u could still get in. Well my ex, who’s a few yrs younger, came in 2003, and it was a waiting list from L.A to Boston to get accepted to USC. Truth be told, she only got in b/c her God-father is Ronnie Lott. The difference between our applications? When I applied, SC sucked; when she applied, SC became a power again. Coincidence? Of course not.

It’s a direct correlation that if ur athletics are good, applications from students swell. It’s not rocket science, yet somehow, we’re the only ones that know this fact here on C.I.S compared to the admin. It’s maddening!!

They can't fire Jenn Strawley. She probably has too many Powerful Friends on the Board.

Blake they can fire For Cause. Strawley, otoh, will stay around. Trust me. I can see this coming a mile away. She'll probably be promoted.
She’ll leave on her own after you cut the doggy treats and free mobile grooming pet spa.

Can i get some traction on my coaching dream team?

Art Briles as head coach

Mike Price as offensive coordinator

Jim Leavitt as defensive coordinator

Jen Strawley to be executive assistant to all 3 of these guys.

Please God, make this happen.
Might as well hire that rapey trainer from Mich St to complete the dream team

Little known fact:
Jimmy Johnson and Urban Meyer are BFFs. Part of the reason Meyer turned down Texas is that JJ recommended it.

What does Miami have to lose by asking JJ to have a chat with Meyer about restoring the program to glory? In all seriousness, I don't think Meyer will return to cfb unless it's for ND. Doesn't matter what USC offers, he turned down Texas because he was tired of having to deal with boosters, recruiting, etc. And it was taking a toll on his health. He'll never have a better deal than Texas. Plus California sucks. Believe it or not, Meyer has experience as an Assistant AD. Now that would be the something. If Meyer quits the NFL due to health concerns, then see if he wants a cushy gig as the AD at UM. Let him have his side gigs as a talking head on the cfb shows and go fishing down in the keys with JJ on the weekends. That would be a **** of a semi retirement gig.

Many moons ago, got my masters in Sports Admin.

Did a paper back then about how an athletic program's performance can affect academics at a school. Used as an example, they increase in quality and quantity of applications at Boston College which just so happened to occur during Doug Flutie's time at the school.

More applicants overall, a wider national applicant pool and higher test scores of applicants all around the time that this was happening:

Have you paid attention to baseball? Or any other sport for that matter?
No, which is my point. I don't care about those sports. If they get rid of Blake from football, yall who do care will have to fight him on that

With someone else offering to cover Mario's salary, and Mannys relatively cheap buyout, there should be no expense spared in addressing the actual issues around this program.

Fire them all, hire an actual consultant, and rebuild that department with the goal being that a successful athletic department should completely pay for itself and more; with revenue generated from successful football, basketball, baseball, and track teams.

Frenk should be embarrassed it's comes to national media questioning his leadership.
got to get that track revenue

Said this my whole time as a student there. They have no business savvy. No one there understands anything there but brown nosing. Just a bunch of kissing up to the “leaders” there but no actual sense of being great.

Anyone with half a brain and some street smarts would understand simple ROI and how a guy like Nick Saban despite his astronomically high salary is actually cheaper than Manny because he brings in tenfold with his winning. Money follows winners.
