Coach Golden quotes from today

I wouldn't be as mad as some of you if I was forced to drink my own urine daily. Holy ****.

You're such a happy guy, IndyFartHouse. Must be because you drink your own urine voluntarily every day.

It must be Patches O'Houlihan:
Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine?

No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Said he'll be more hands-on, delegate his time better.

It's really pathetic that he took so long to learn this (if it is true). He has been a HC since 2006.

Oh yeah, hire competent coaches.

Doesn't really matter if he claims to be more hands on. What has he ever done as a defensive Corch to instill any confidence that him being hands on is going to fix anything? I suspect he's been plenty hands on all along anyway. It's his defense we've been running, and he's not the tower Corch type.

He had his hands on a pen ready to sign a pedo state contract.

- Golden onUM v. FSU: "For us at the U of Miami, for us to get back to where we want to be, we’ve got to win that game."

This was the most important quote for me. Usually he would run form this question but he actually said what i wanted. i like this new golden.

Asked Golden how he can be better in Year 4. Said he'll be more hands-on, delegate his time better.

I told everyone in the other thread he was going to be more hands on with the defense and everything from now on. he knows his seat is warm and he doesnt want D'NO to cause him his job.

The importance of that one game is at an all time high this season, because there is a chance we may play FSU twice. He knows that he could be the 1st Cane HC to lose 2 times in a season and also put us in a 6 game skid to our biggest foe. 5 of those would be on him. Which would be the 2nd longest skid to them since the 63 to 72 stretch of 7 games and the longest skid of the modern era. Also since he has been HC here. The beatings from FSU have gotten worse every year. Going from 4 to 13 to 27 points.

Contrary to many peoples beliefs on here. The heat has been on him since the end of last season. People need to save the 2020 bs and this his his real 1st year drama. Had PSU offered him he would have been out of here faster than ****. Dude knows he needs to produce and he needs to do it fast. He didn't bring in Heaps just because. He brought him in because he knows nobody is going to buy the QB went down BS. He has very little faith in Olsen and i seriously doubt he is going to put this season in the hands of a true frosh.

I also doubt Heaps would have left without some sort of assurance that he would get a real shot. Regardless of what Williams says about being ready at the start of the season. Golden doesn't seem to be a believer just from his responses. Golden could sell eskimo ice if he wanted to, but he doesn't look like he his trying hard to sell what Williams is selling.

As far as him getting more hands on. That is a huge sign that he knows the people above ain't ******* around. Dude is trying to micro manage **** because imo. The ship done sailed on the scapegoating Ono. Only a blind *** admin would not say to Golden. 3 years are in the book and your defense has gotten worse. I feel you need to look for a new man. Golden took the heat on himself and said the defense was his.

He has to make this **** happen. I am not saying that he needs to win a title our even a conference title this year, but he **** sure needs to beat FSU and at least play in the ACCCG. If he doesn't do either. I can't see any logical reason to keep him.

Maybe he gets it right this year. I think everyone would be happy winning games that we should, beating FSU at least once. And appearance in the ACCCG and a bowl victory.

golden looks a lot less stressed.
he really loves South Florida and his parents live in Naples, why is everyone so sure he wanted out of here?

One thing I do know as fact is that Al's wife absolutely loves South Florida.

- "Our platform has changed, from constantly being on our heels and defending ourselves to now, we’re back on the attack," he said.

Is he talking about defense, recruiting, or both?

Me too. I hope he means his stupid defensive scheme. I have had enough of the other crap. He has team full of his guys and more talent than anyone in conference other than criminoles. BUT I think he is still talking his about the cloud stuff. Real as it was, there never were ANY restrictions against tackling before 10 yards, nor any affirmative ncaa requirement to allow every receiver a ten yard cushion and free catch zones. We didn't have a QB and his OC got taken by NFL, so I'll cut him slack on the O LAST year, but he has had nothing but his beloved continuity on defense--unfortunately.

I think it is more "we wanted him to want out of here." I am happy for his looking less stressed. My problem is that he is stressing the living crap out of me. He plays friggin touch football on defense(I'm probably giving touch football a bad name) while everyone else is playing tackle. All that said, I will never believe he did not disappear for days hawking the psu job. He is over losing it now but that took some time. I only hope he knows he will not get it when Franklin goes to NFL unless he does better on defense down here. In fact, I hope he realizes he is heading toward being Coker's replacement out west(but without the NC) if he doesn't learn how to coach and fast.

Sebring, quit while you can. Shapiro specifically said in the report that we (miami) never got into the business of buying recruits because we would lose the bidding war.

DMoney, what are your thoughts and expectations for this season?

I like the talent and character on the roster. The defense we saw in spring had speed and aggression. There are no more Highsmiths and Rodgers.

I don't like the uncertainty at QB and DT. I also don't like the schedule.

If the QB situation gets settled, and Wyche is who we think he is, this could be a breakthrough season. But those are two big ifs.

We are getting back to having premium, top-end players. Perryman, Duke, Coley and Flowers are as good as anyone in the country. However, depth is still an issue. We were a Top 10 team with Duke last year, and an embarrassment with him on the sideline. We need to get lucky with health.

I'm excited. We're almost a month away. Let's stop being whiny ****es about Golden. He's here and his results will speak for themselves. This is an exciting time. If you weren't excited you wouldn't be on here, so let's focus on the season and stop crying about the same ****.

I agree with everything you said Money, but not sure I can stop crying. But I am excited about the season but it is because of the roster not those things you want us to stop crying about getting better. It would certainly help if the first time a loserville players touches the ball he gets his cleats forced fed to him by 7 or 8 Canes behind the line of scrimmage.

I truly hope this means no more bend don't break bull ****.

Lulz at anyone that buys into anything that golden is selling right now. He said nothing different than what he's said for the last 3+ years. Can't wait for the season to start just so we have finality on the discussions about golden. Either he will make a fool out of people like myself or he will prove us correct.

Cant Wait gif.

Agreed on all of this, especially the last part.

I just don't know what people expect Golden to say when he talks to the media. He's going to sell the program and his vision for it at every turn--that's his job. It's part PR for the program, PR for him, and recruiting front as well. He's not going to come out and say half the crazy-negative stuff people on here say about his own players/scheme/program...he's just not.

If he did, he'd get dogged out for being careless with the media. But since he answers his questions like most head coaches do...he's a used car salesman.

I'm convinced that this guy can win all he wants on the football field, but there are still some people that would bytch about how he answered a question in the postgame pressers. It's a sad existence for some.

I can only aspire to come across as happy as IndyFartHouse in my CIS porsting.

IndyFartHouse is so much more evolved than the rest of us rabble it's scary. I wonder if he has a British accent and wears an ascot.

I think Farthouse is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. I'm spilling my Earl Grey all over myself.

Farthouse. I hope that sticks.

It wasn't about the defense. I heard the interview in its entirety, and he was talking about the ncaa stuff.

Yes. It was almost more in the context of recruiting.
