Last years class was far from a dud. Good grief.

Last year was a B+ class, could have been an A+ with Valentine, Dixon, & JC Jackson.

There aren't any elite defensive tackles in Florida this year. Miami really needed Valentine (or anyone). But I know Michael Wyche will be better than what we had. He's no slouch you can book that.

I think he's a 5-technique in Miami's system. After the Big 3 (Travonte Valentine, Khari Clark, & Demarcus Christmas) it's a drop off in talent for the 2014 class at DT.

UM is supposed to get most of the local bosses. Lou, Howard and Jimmy built this thing to where UM should get these guys.

Recruiting is supposed to be Fat Al's main strength. Till now, he's been below average at his supposed strength. The only reason guys are so surprised by us getting big time bosses is because the product Fat has put on the field has been an incredible abomination.

Now, we are supposed to fawn over this guy because he appears to be doing what he should have been doing all along? Go win some gotdam games, stop having your team quit on you, field a defense that isn't a historical embarrassment, and don't disappear for a week begging for another college job while your school president has no idea where you are, and you'll get some plaudits.

I agree with you, but its important not to understate you were having to recruit with one hand behind your back when we didn't know what was going to happen with the whole NCAA deal.

That cloud wasn't there for the last class, and he got his *** thoroughly kicked. He appears to be doing well with skill players right now, and he'd probably field an incredible 7 on 7 team. But I'm still waiting for him to start winning in the trenches where we need the most help.

We won 9 games last year with a mash squad without duke no depth because of the ncaabull****.... What do people want im realistic i know we became a 2nd tier college footbal program shannon and the ncaa ddi this over a 10 year run ... Its not going to happen overnite ... I mean if you cant see the impact the ncaa had on recruiting your blind the decision was made and look whats happening the staff is on a roll.... I do not understand the hate golden gets i get negged because i like golden and want the team to do good... And im realistic .. If we keep this up golden and staff will bring us back from the depths that randy and the ncaa lefts us

You get negged for several reasons.

You keep pretending that last year's 9 wins was some 2008 Miami Dolphins coaching miracle that deserves Biblical praise. It wasn't. He won the games he was supposed to, more often than not barely, and got absolutely thrashed down the stretch.

You bring up the cloud more than Golden does and act like it was much more severe than it was. It wasn't. Golden has pulled top 10 classes down here since 2012 so evidently the cloud wasn't that brutal except for when it comes to some of the 5 star elites.

You attempt to give credit to Golden for everything. When the sun comes up tomorrow, I'm sure you'll kiss your Al Golden bedside photo and give him credit for it. When Dorsett makes his first touchdown catch of the season, I'm sure you'll thank Al for being responsible for such a fantastic catch. You want the team to do well so long as Al Golden is given 110% credit for the win. In all your comments, you never mention a player or actual coaching components. You also say ridiculous things like, "If there was no NCAA business, we'd have 3 rings by now!" You come off as a bigger Al Golden fan than Miami Hurricane fan and it's annoying. Temper your credit, be fair, and realize that for a lot of the good Al has done, there's a lot that he needs to improve on and even the most ardent Golden supporter needs to admit that.

And like i have stated golden gets judged starting this year for me point blank recruiting i want to see better no excuses and look whats happening we have a long way to go but this week has been the best week i have ever seen in this program for 20-30 years

I don't understand the hate twards Golden and some of the staff. I get the criticism for the on field stuff but at the very least he got the program through a tough time and improved the talent on the team while doing so. That alone gets him some brownie points in my book.

You didn't address 90% of my post but okay let's try this out.

1. 9 wins was what the talent was worth. Duke and Dorsett going down was obviously going to hurt for the remaining games, but that does not constitute 18 points or worse losses to bad to average to good teams in VT, Duke, Louisville, and FSU. Our talent was better than 2.5 to 3 out of the 4 teams we got massacred by and had been in his system for 3 years. That's coaching and a poor scheme. But that's a microcosm of the bigger issues.

2. Golden had a NCAA cloud to deal with that he still pulled top 10 classes in spite of. Therefore, the cloud's direct impact on recruiting isn't exactly damning us to top 25 range. His recruiting judgment started last year and he rose to the occasion enough. Losing Cook, Sony, Lane, Dixon, Valentine, and others is terrible but he signed more than enough talent for most to not bash him. The cloud was not in effect for last year's class. That being said, I was at least personally satisfied enough with the production.

3. A head coach and his staff are interchangeable for praise and blame seeing as the head coach hires the staff. Making fun of Golden's weight is in poor taste and a lot of people that do it have problems with him beyond his coaching. That can't be controlled. Some of it may be pent up bitterness with the belief that he has underachieved since he's been here, seemingly recruited out of state, is attempting to change the football identity of the team and it's been going poorly to say the least, Penn State-gate, and poor leadership where changes needed to be made with the staff. That leads to the weight lash outs.

4. The team wasn't relevant when Randy took over either. He had one bounce back year and was then promptly exposed. Golden just had the bounce back year. Time to see if he can deliver for posterity. Without getting detailed, if he goes 7-5 this year, he'll be packing his bags. And it isn't all about recruiting. Google Ron Zook and that'll show you what outstanding recruiting and average to mediocre coaching will get you. He needs to show some coaching chops to convince people he's the right guy.

4B. Pump the breaks with best recruiting week you've seen in 20-30 years. It was a beautiful week that I'm thrilled that I got to enjoy. 2016 is shaping up to be ungodly good. 2015 is concerning. It's ranked high right now with 4 elite players at the same position that can't be on the field at the same time. Defensive studs are still waiting other than Perry and Patchan. At least the staff will push guys out if they need to.

It was supposed to be top 5. It felt like a dud because of how it ended. And again, the difference maker at DT didn't sign with us, again.

Yes, not a dud in the grand scheme of things, but after the UL beat down most where hoping for something good, and IMO it was another op blown.
