Tears Clemson Tears

Sorry for the PTSD. We can start a therapy group about this. 🤣
I need to join. My son’s football coach, here in Forsyth, partnered with one of the others and started a new team this year. They take the kids to a league OVER IN COBB. It started all kinds of drama among the kids just because the parents want a second chance at live.

Also, do y’all get why I have beef with Clemson now? They’re racist as all ****. Trust me, they are not the sweet fanbase you think they are.

They are driving from Forsyth to Cobb? That is quite a hike, especially if it’s during rush hour.

Yes sir! Our football field is practically right across the street from the elementary school, but these coaches weren’t happy with that, even though the two of them were playing each other in the championship each year. We are in the West Forsyth High School district, so basically right where Forsyth, Milton, and Cherokee all meet (20 mins from 400), and they are going all the way down to Marietta. FOURTH GRADERS.

But I shouldn’t be surprised. They’ve already had some of the kids in year-round travel baseball teams for years too. It’s just annoying because it separated the kids and it got all weird between them and they were too young to really understand what was happening, and why certain kids were being “recruited,” and why some parents put their foot down and say **** no either way.

And the league was expanding and it was already pretty competitive. So I honestly don’t know why they did it. One of them was a total **** though, and I am wondering if he had an issue with someone at the league, because he was always fighting with people at games.

The sad part to me about driving to Cobb County is that you have really good youth sports in Forsyth. You don’t need to leave the county for youth sports.

My business partner has 2 boys at West Forsyth high school. Their football team is very good and it all starts with the youth programs. In fact, Forsyth uses the Gwinnett model where the youth parks feed into the schools in terms of coaching styles and even plays. And it works

EXACTLY. It’s run really well, and the kids get fantastic coaching. They have youth football night this Friday, and they celebrate homecoming at the elementary schools too, with West football players and cheerleaders visiting and the kids getting involved with Spirit Week. It’s a fun tradition, and we also use it as a way for the boys to thank their cheerleaders too for supporting them by giving them flowers. West also does camps pretty regularly with the kids, which is nice, because they’re pretty cheap and it’s extra training right here in our neighborhood.

But they are calling this new team the West Forsyth 4th Grade Feeder team, so that worries me. The actual feeder team starts with middle school. It just feels like they’re trying to undercut something. But I guess I should probably stop worrying and being overprotective, because once everyone gets to middle school, they’ll have to try out anyway.

Thanks for the therapy!

How many threads can we derail with it?

My last coaching moment was an 8 year old rec league playoff game. Opposing coach was furious at a call a high school kid volunteer ump made and caused such a scene the league commissioner was literally called to pitchers mound while the ump/kid cried. Dude wouldn’t stop. In front of the opposing coach, I told the commish to reverse the call because this person needed a trophy badly. Other coach didn’t get it. Likely still doesn’t.

Dabo can suck it.
My fav is my son’s 8 year old rec basketball. The opposing coach was a dbag that did a fake countdown at the end of the quarter. The kid dribbling launched a 3/4 court duck with about 8 seconds left on the clock. Man, he was so proud of himself for tricking the second grader
Exactly the sort of nonsense I’m talking about
