CJ Carr named starting QB for Notre Dame

The nightmare RS FR I remember was Sam Bradford. I was still arrogant Canes fan in '07. I was thinking, this is just his second game ever. We're gonna win of course. And, oh boy.

I went back and looked at the stats-he was 19-25, but it felt like he completed every pass.
lol F that game... was that the one Kyle Wright had like less than 80 yds passing and our leading rusher (james or coop maybe?) had less than 40 yards? If we have an offensive performance like that you could pick any poster from CIS to be ND qb and they likely win lol

I didn’t care either way but preferred Carr because I’ve been told he was less of a threat running. But it really doesn’t matter, this kid has a few bad drives or turnovers (hopefully) and we will see both at some point in the game.
I was hoping for Carr just cause I don't know how a guy throwing his first pass ever deals with what will be an insane atmosphere there that night. We should be able to stack the line and play the run and make him beat outside - meaning please for the love of everything holy, cover the **** TE and make him stand there for his WRs to get open. I like our chances with this choice more.

Notre Dame announced that redshirt freshman CJ Carr will be the starting quarterback for the opener against Miami.

The 6'3, 210-pound Carr is the grandson of famed Michigan coach Lloyd Carr. The Saline (Mich.) High product was ranked as the #6 quarterback out of high school and is considered more of a pocket passer than his primary competitor at QB, Kenny Minchey. He has yet to throw a pass in a college game.

Multiple reports indicated previously that Minchey was the favorite for the job, as Irish offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock had prior success with dual-threat QBs like Desmond Ridder, Jayden Daniels and Riley Leonard.

Both will play. We need to be ready for everything!!! Being the better passer will open the run game for them. But taking away the QB run threat makes the offense easier for us

Many of the ND fans are trying to talk themselves into believing Carr is the guy. They heard all camp Menchie was ahead. And, they all know Angeli was better than both. But, politics or either more money at Syracuse than ND was willing to pay may have pushed Angeli out of the door. This entire situation makes me think Marcus Freeman may not be calling the shots. Rather, the boosters may be calling the shots on Carr playing. Time will tell.

Ah, you can tell we are all excited for this match up and it's getting mad close. Love the energy. Stomp on their necks!!!

I won't be in attendance but I hope all of you who attend go absolute ape **** and make it so loud ND fans are covering their ears again.

I'm ready to see what this secondary can do! We need two picks and one to the house ALA trajan bandy!!!

Let's go Canes!!!! I'm hype

They telling lies lol. Doubling down on the narrative that Carr’s multiple picks in several practices is because he is going against the best corners in the country lol. OJ and X about to feast.
