CJ Carr didn't win the job

Maybe play the entire press conference & Freeman explains that the competition was too close to choose off stats alone. He had to look at all factors, such as leadership, pre-snap reads, making OL adjustments, etc… and that’s why he chose Carr.
Another example of bad “journalists” taking a one minute portion of a 30 minute presser and putting it on twitter out of context.

You a closet Notre Dame fan?

Been saying it all along. Teams are “relatively” at parity except for QB. Beck is a Day 1 NFL talent in his fifth year vs Carr who is a brand new QB annd isn’t known for accuracy. This isn’t a small gap it is the Grand Canyon of chasms. And QB is so critical a piece to the overall offense that I don’t see how ND overcomes their disadvantage there. We win.
I knew a couple co-eds back in the day who were also "the Grand Canyon of chasms" if ya know what I mean....

i'll go on record as saying i never imagined an ohio state linebacker-turned notre dame head coach could be as likeable as this dude

They’ll be lucky if this kid plays average. Go put up 17 in the first half on these clowns and see how it goes when he has to press.

A kid who has never played who barely (and maybe didn’t) won the job over a run-first QB, in that environment, in that time slot. I like my chances. Tackle Love, Price, and Williams. If we lose because Carr is a stud, I’ll tip my cap. My money is on him looking very overwhelmed.

Take it from a vet that’s been to many practices & heard the bull **** that came out of a coach’s mouth at a presser:

Take what u hear w a grain of salt. Freeman could be playing coy so we can feel overconfident or he could be telling the truth. Carr could look like the next Montana or the next Pawlus. Either way, we won’t know until Saturday.

Exactly right. Who’s picking the team with a QB making his first start at LSU’s Death Valley at night? That’s basically the environment Carr’s walking into on Sunday, and that’s why I feel good about this game.

Except it was widely reported that Minchey was the better QB by every single ND source. Maybe Freeman is playing 3D chess and he has every single beat reporter for ND taking acting lessons, I think this was a "higher upside" play.
But who knows, maybe ND Insider 247 might be accepting for best ensemble at the Golden Globes 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is where it gets lost in the sauce:
ND insiders reported that, while other outlets reported it was Carr’s job to lose. So we’ll see; I just know we need to prepare like he’s going to light us up b/c our history of making unknown QBs look like the next golden arm is quite dubious.
