CJ Bailey needs to come home

Sounds good to me

... (as long as we get a higher target)
I’m not as high on Bailey as some other people in here. I’m hearing Kiffin is very interested in Leavitt so I could definitely see him going to LSU. I saw a crazy rumor yesterday and I haven’t seen many people here talking about it but some Nebraska folks are saying we might be interested in Raiola. Any truth to this, or just nonsense?

Something to keep in mind when you watch Saturday's Heisman ceremony:

CJ Bailey (two years at NC State)

68%, 5,297 yards, 7.9 YPA, 40 TDS, 19 INTs, 494 rushing yards, 10 TDs

Fernando Mendoza (two years at Cal)

66%, 4,712 yards, 7.5 YPA, 30 TDs, 16 INTs, 197 rushing yards, 4 TDs

When I first brought up Mendoza as a Miami option last year, most of the responses were, "We can do better," "We're only talking about him because he's from South Florida," or worse. Those posts aged like the girl from Top Gun.

I was against Mendoza and I was completely wrong. I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Bring me Bailey.

Mendoza will bust harder than Peter North in the NFL
I believe so as well, some qb's have a great year and then disappear. Ordinary players can have great seasons here n there, or it can go the other way around and he can be great. I would bet on bust though depending where he goes.......if he has to do everything and the roster is depleted......he's screwed.

I can now see CJ doing well with improved talent but idk, if he comes with number 4 then you do everything on earth to get him here.

We’ll see. NFL is hard to predict with situation and a bunch of other factors.

The college argument is over. He’s the projected Heisman and #1 pick for a Big 10 champion.

All the people who trashed him should collect their Ls before moving on to NFL hating.

I was 1000% in favor of taking Mendoza (before Beck ever became a reality). I sat about 10 rows behind the Cal bench for the UM-Cal game, and he truly impressed me.

My two preferred targets were Mateer and Mendoza.

I feel like @DMoney is not so subtly pointing us in a certain direction.

Who in the world cares if Mendoza busts in the league? He's leading the #1 team in the country and is about to win the Heisman trophy. After a kid leaves here, if he wanted to go live on the moon, I couldn't care less. Just win here.

Also, just a totally unnecessary stray at Kelly McGillis here. Yeah, she’s aged like an avocado on the surface of the sun, but she didn’t think she’d catch a DMoney roundhouse while having her morning coffee reading about her Canes.

I honestly don’t know. People assumed I was doing that last year with Mendoza and we went in a different direction. This is just my opinion on the cleanest, most obvious fit.

There are other good options and more may emerge, like Beck last year.

Google Kerry McGillis at your own risk

I won't be upset with Bailey, but he is 5th for me. These guys have to actually enter the portal which may not happen. I think LSU with Kiffin will be the only competition for us getting whoever we want. I don't know who the staff value the most, but I would not make it down to Bailey if it was my decision, which obviously doesn't matter. Go Canes!

We need to bring Bailey home if possible. He has tremendous upside, especially in our system and with our trenches. I agree 100% with D$. Nothing but upside by signing him both on the field and impact with local recruiting going forward.
