CJ Bailey needs to come home

We should be competing in the playoffs next year as the goal. And I just don’t see Emory as a guy leading a contending team. I’d say there’s a decent chance Judd transfers. Coleman probably needs a year to sit and develop. So that really just leaves Luke Nickel that you’re hoping as a RS freshman is ready to take the reigns..

Bring in another transfer stud and then let Nickel and Coleman sit an learn and then decide if either is ready to take over in 2027

2022 - RS FR at Miss St played 5 games
2023 - Transfered to Baylor plays 6 games with 4 starts
2024 - Baylor starts entire season
2025 - 5th and final year at Baylor

You think Mestemaker is worth going for in the portal? I think him or the Cal kid should be the top guys with 2 yrs eligibility.

For guys with Experience that are good but maybe not great it's probably gotta be 1. Hoover, 2. Becht or Sorsby.

If we are going for 1 yr Elite guys again, I don't know how likely it is with family on the staff, but Riaola (as annoying as the mahomes costume is) should prob be #1 choice.

Sellers should also return to college and I'd bet Beamer goes to VTech so he could be on market. Not sure the fit there. Doubt TTU is losing Hammond, but he looked good too. Theres always taking on the Lagway project...

Mendoza is going to be a first round pick of the NFL. That is the highest level. As for dinking and dunking, he averages 10 yards per attempt.

South Florida has nothing to do with it. He gets more hype from national guys than he gets on here. If he was from Austin, Texas, we'd be begging for him.

I think you're placing too much of an emphasis on stats and not enough on tools and ability. Those G5 Johnny College guys without physical ability get exposed in the playoffs against real defenses.

The case for Bailey is simple: 6'6, strong arm, fast, accurate, started as a true freshman, good character, two years of eligibility. He's already made real strength and technique gains in college. I see an upward trajectory. But him behind our offensive line and he'll put up monster numbers like Mendoza is doing at Indiana.

Depends on what they want at QB.

If they want someone who can make advanced level throws & improvise, then absolutely.

If they want a game manager that will play safe with the focal point of the Offense being the run game, then Bailey is exactly who they should pursue.

I'm saying right now this is the dude I'd go all in for as my #1 portal target this offseason. Pay what it takes to get him.
