I guess I have to watch more of Mendoza. His game against Old Dominion was pretty bad.

College QBs are streaky. He’s looked good at IU, that’s true but he had some horrific performances last season, notably losing to FSU.
 
Mark your calendars for the November 15th QB contest. Should be a fun. Hopefully Bain & Co give Bailey an early transfer portal welcome package.

I don’t like this take, if a better player is in the portal and you have the resources to do it, then you do it. I believe making the team better anyway possible. If that means getting the top portal QB every year, center, etc do it. Im not saying we shouldn’t develop players out of high school, but if you get a better player right now then that’s what the staff should do.

Exactly. The coaches know what we have. They see the players at practice every day. If they know that they have someone they can win Big with, obviously we would not have to go to the portal. I personally feel Coleman might be the guy by Sophmore year. Hopefully he’s an EE

I mean obviously that’s the goal but we’re probably another year away. We’re bringing back Mali, Moore, Jojo along with Lofton, Schott, and Gilbert. And our running back trio.

We should be competing in the playoffs next year as the goal. And I just don’t see Emory as a guy leading a contending team. I’d say there’s a decent chance Judd transfers. Coleman probably needs a year to sit and develop. So that really just leaves Luke Nickel that you’re hoping as a RS freshman is ready to take the reigns..
 
CJ gotta come on home for real. I like developing players but the train keeps rolling at a high level if he makes the move

maybe with better talent around him he could be better. IMO, you take the best QB. If he is Qb one in the portal, make him fight for the starting spot. I just believe there will be better options
