CJ Bailey needs to come home

Quite the oxymoron every season.

1. Gas up the HS QB we recruit, championing them as the future of the program while also simultaneously

2. Claiming the next QB of the future plays for a different CFB team.

Some if not most of u guys would’ve made excellent, prototypical Jehovah’s Witnesses w this cognitive dissonance.
Tbf CIS didn't do #1 with Judd

He’s a mid tier P4 QB.

If Miami decides to go to the portal again next year, they can do better than him.

Yeah I'm sure. I'm not getting into how recruiting works. But the main part of it is promises and relationships. Your word is pivotal. You're not promising them starting jobs. But you most definitely are promising them a chance to compete. You bring in a QB as a junior (who is gonna demand that he's handed the starting job to come here) that means your word ain't ****. Further more CJ bailey while he's developing well it's important to remember he's not showing this against top tier comp. Why would you burn the important relationships you've put years into developing in order to give a kid a job who still needs to develop more himself? Hard pass is how that works. This job is between Luke(1a)& Emory (1b)if he'll still be here. It's not relevant who likes that scenario. Just is what it is

Going into a season with Emory as the starter would be a catastrophic mistake.

My concern is that the shark tank will be much more active this year given transfer QBs with reps are now proven to be much more reliable than developmental QBs. So instead of 5 programs all bidding for Ward or Beck, it will be 25. Ward was 1.5M, Beck 3M+. Next portal, instead of 3M, the winner will probably pay double again.

We're super lucky there are a few Florida native options who will most likely be in the portal. Going to cost us a lot more this time around though.
Nope there were always around that amount and alot of these teams are still purchasing big at hs qbs....as its still thoughts like what you have on this board now that "developing your own qb" is the way to go so they have been burning cash like that....

It could be 25 teams vying it doesnt mater if Mimi has the PROVEN destination and PROVEN Pitch who cares if Penn State is trying to get something in the portal or Minnesota...
Our QB is being contacted b4 he is even in the portal.

this is what this era of college football is all about. QBs need to play to get better. Starts matter. Snaps matter. He would have sat here.

Let NCST develop him a little more. He can come home any time and we can get his best play.

I WAS ON HERE WONDERING WTH WAS WRONG WITH SHANNOND AWSON GOING AFTER JUDD ANDERSON OVER CJ BAILEY WITH JO JO TRADER AND A POSSIBLE JJ SMITH ON THE LINE. @DTP
We ended up with Jo Jo so all was well but still....

from what I’ve heard and I could be way off, the $ difference from the two was huge, which makes sense.

He’s not winning a competition against another top-notch portal quarterback. You and I both know that. I don’t even think he’ll be able to win a competition with Luke next year.
Point is were not going to intentionally **** over like and dereon by bringing in a big name portal QB. We'll get a portal QB that is okay with either a competition or a back ups role and we all know only portal QBs okay with that scenario are the one already in memories situation elsewhere. We prioritize our high school relationships. Portal is complimentary.

The staff also has to consider whether it thinks Emory Williams or RS freshman Luke Nickel are good enough to make the playoffs or compete for a championship.
No offense to you or anyone else. But this conversation has become redundant. No matter what scenario you play out in y'all's heads WE ARE NOT GOING TO GUARANTEE A STARTING QB JOB TO ANYONE IN THE PORTAL. Not when doing that puts the word out like and dereon recruitments were never done in good faith. If you promise a kid a chance to compete and then bring in someone just so you gaurentee a starters spot than your burning your face and your word nationally.
