CJ Bailey needs to come home

Are you sure about the low-pressure thingie? If anything, being in an NFL city, he will be under the microscope. Look at Jacory Harris when he played at UM. Although I think Bailey has more tools and, in fairness, he is only in his second year.
He's talking about DL pressure on the QB

You say like some of those people aren’t the ones that think we’d be fine with Bailey.
Look, Bailey is nowhere near our best option @ QB ..nor is he a BAD option.. he's a guy i'd be cool with taking if we strike out on all the top tier guys...other then his backs n a decent TE he's surrounded by pure dumpster juice @ NC State.

Sorsby should be the first, second, and third call.

Yes, the Utah game was bad. I do not care.

Without a doubt the best qb who might be available. I think current draft projections have him late 2nd or 3rd round. Get 5-6 million for one year at Miami and become a top 10 pick.

I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again - the only reason half this board is obsessed with the idea of this kid playing at Miami is because he’s local. If he grew up playing high school ball in Denton, Texas, 98% of this board wouldn’t have Bailey on their portal radar.

This fanbase is obsessed with hometown heroes and while it’s amazing when they work (Toney), there are a lot that don’t

He will play in the NFL.

Save this post and put it next to the Mendoza thread.
That’s nice and dandy. Is he good enough to compete in college for a national championship? I don’t care about guys careers after. That’s what has gotten Miami in so much trouble over the years.

Yes. Drafted players are 2% of the college population. If you can’t win with those guys, pack it up.

I heard the same thing repeatedly about Mendoza last year at this time.

If Bailey jumps in the Portal, he’ll be at or near the top of the 247 QB transfer rankings. The same thing happened with Mendoza and people were surprised.

The national perception of Bailey is higher than on this board.

Bailey just needs to keep growing. He's young. He's athletic. Can make throws on the run.

He isn't #1 though imo at this point. Do we have revisionist history if we pass on him? Maybe.

I thought mendoza was on the same level as beck but I had this hope beck returned to form and brought that 29-3 with him. So I leaned beck. Mendoza has grown a ton and excels in cignettis system.

If I'm be honest, none of the current rumored names excite me like ward did and I have trouble making up my mind between Bailey, sellers, and leavitt. Hopefully there's an even bigger name. If I had to pick one today, I'd probably just lean sellers due to the play making ability, our OL, and how we want to attack on the ground at times.

I get that. It just seems like Miami historically recruits guys who end up tapping into their potential at the NFL level. (Pre-Mario mostly so my complaint is weak at best)

Give me the Ken Dorsey/Diego Pavia’s over Jacoby Brissett. I’d also gladly take another Cam Ward. 😂

Two things can be true.

1. If he entered the portal, he would have a lot of interest and be at the top in the rankings.
2. The last couple games have left a lot, a lot, to be desired.

I think you need to go 1 of 2 directions. Either experienced winner (I.e Beck, like a leavitt) or the incredible traits/great production (I.e Ward, like JKS or The north Texas kid). Don’t think Bailey excels in either of those
