I'm with you on the Lane train, even would gladly take Tom Herman. But if we land Mario, how would rate the hire on a 1-10 scale?

People on here questioning intelligence don’t have enough to realize not fully endorsing a coach who continuously takes bad losses isn’t an endorsement of the current staff.

Did you even read my post? I never mentioned anything about endorsing the current staff.

My post was for people who are judging how he will do with us based upon ONE ****** GAME LAST NIGHT. I'm not talking about continuous bad losses.
 
People on here already hating on what’s happening…. They want change but they want change with the people they want…

Get ready for the faction of posters that will **** and moan and start unnecessary threads because they don’t like the AD or new HC

And if Oregon had won every Mario fan would be doing the exact same thing.
 
All season on the Oregon boards they felt like they were a year ahead of schedule and didn’t expect a 10 win season.

If Mario can fix the culture and recruit, I am of the opinion that the rest will take care of itself.
 
CIS has more passionate fans than the general fan pool. With passion often comes irrational thinking and even behavior lol

It's almost as if you are forgetting that:

1. He has checked out and doesn't want to be there. He want to go home.
2. He has a mother who is GRAVELY ill and does not seem to be doing well at all (could she be more important to him than this game?)
3. His players are uninspired and checked out bcuz they know their OC and Head coach are gone. They simply do not care.
4. He has "Doo Doo" Brown starting as his QB( Nick Saban couldn't win with him).

Sure....Lane would probably be better for us but it ain't happening. Mario will be our guy. So let's withhold judgement and give him an opportunity to coach his 1st game for the U before we start casting aspersions regarding how much he sucks like Manny.

I am not on the Mario sucks train. However, appointment him as the savior is also foolish.

Maybe so. While I won't annoint him as the savior, I will gladly give him a fair chance to show us what he can do for UM.

For sure, but in defense of Randy, Al, Manny, etc. Our administration has been the real issue. These guys have been taking a knife to a gun fight.

Yes, our admin had been beyond sub par. I'm optimistic that things are moving in a new direction. It's the best I have felt in awhile. We seem to have the financial resources and commitment to put UM back in the championship map.
I hope they continue this course.

Very good/great coaches want to win games, especially when championships are involved, conference or otherwise. If his mind was not in the game, he should have stepped aside and let one of his assistance take over, and been there as a figurehead. However, I believe Utah was simply the better team, after all, he played them twice, and he did not seem to learn much from the first lost.

No idea why the chose to neglect athletics. I understand wanting to be recognized for their academics, but my guess is that football, baseball, & basketball success would bring in $$$ and notoriety that will benefit academic ventures

still won 10 games, if Lane had this QB he wouldn’t of won more

Also let me say this, I don’t think Mario is the greatest thing since sliced bread but I also don’t think Lane is a better head coach than Mario, Lane is a better play caller, yes . What we need is a good CEO head coach that can bring in good coordinators and recruit like ****
