CIS Intellect

I am often impressed with the wide range and depth of intellect that is often reflected on this board.

But man I gotta tell you....this whole notion of judging how Mario will do here based upon how ****** he looks tonight, is some next-level stupid ****!

You guys have to be smarter than this.

It's almost as if you are forgetting that:

1. He has checked out and doesn't want to be there. He want to go home.
2. He has a mother who is GRAVELY ill and does not seem to be doing well at all (could she be more important to him than this game?)
3. His players are uninspired and checked out bcuz they know their OC and Head coach are gone. They simply do not care.
4. He has "Doo Doo" Brown starting as his QB( Nick Saban couldn't win with him).

Sure....Lane would probably be better for us but it ain't happening. Mario will be our guy. So let's withhold judgement and give him an opportunity to coach his 1st game for the U before we start casting aspersions regarding how much he sucks like Manny.
Who is you guys
And that equals the whole board

Every coach has a bad day and Oregon picked the wrong day. I don't recall a coach having this much on his plate prior to a big game, but it's probably happened. I wish Mario well, and hope he end's up at UM. However, their are more important things in life than football and I wish the best for his mother.

this game and several other tight games against sub 500 opponents are red flags to me. This team beat Ohio State then proceeded to have an avg year with lots of nail biters and 3 terrible losses to lesser talented teams. Meanwhile Ohio State thrashed nearly every team they played save Michigan.

The red flags are there.

Your points are very fair. My main point is that you can't judge how he will do with us bcuz of ONE game last night.

If anything it's amazing he won 10 games with Doo Doo Brown as his quarterback. One could argue if he could win 10 games with Brown as a QB, what could he do with Dyke as his QB?

But I agree there are some red flags or concerns with him just as there would be for all coaches not named Saban and Smart.

Let's give him a chance though. Miami is a different situation. Let's see how he does with our team before we go gloom and doom bcuz he **** the bed last night.

To be fair, what happened 3 weeks ago can't be ignored either..
That he got beat by a better team?
Clearly Utah is a better team. The Stanford loss now THAT was a bad loss. But there is no shame in being beaten by a GOOD team who happens to be a bad matchup for you . I bet if they played each other 10 times Utah would win 7/10.

You guys = those who are using ONE ****** GAME last night to judge how Mario will do with us.
I thought I made that clear in my post.

I am fine with Mario and think he will do much better if brings better coordinators on offense and defense with him to Miami.
But you keep repeating "ONE $#%^ GAME" and then excuse the previous Stanford or Utah games".

Either way we will definitely get an upgrade from the previous 4 clowns at Miami.

I think your compass is a little off on this Moe (or you are at the least preaching to a VERY select few)

There is a small portion of this board that act like Mario is Manny 2.0. They are off base
There is a small portion of this board act like Mario is a top 10 coach. They are off base

Like most things in life, the truth is in the middle of both extremes. That is where most sit on Mario. The majority of the gents on this board that have concerns/doubts about Mario did not just form that opinion from last night's game. These issues have been discussed for years on this board. Last night's game was just more of a validation of some of those doubts/concerns if anything, not the creation of such concerns. Most of the judging/opinions you have issue with last night were already formulated. If any of our fans (and Im sure there are a couple) took Mario from hero to zero in their heads, just after lasts nights game, then they havent been paying attention to Mario's career very much and are having a knee jerk reaction.

Considering what this program has been through, we would be lucky to get the guy, but he wouldnt be my 1st choice. Im a big fan of him personally from what Ive read about him as a family man and leader. I also think/hope he can grow and get better at his craft. Hoping for some good news on Mon/Tues.

Good response. And you're probably right about it only being a minority of people on this board who are having a knee-jerk reaction based upon last night's game.

Nah Im not excusing the other games at all. Actually, I think Stanford was the worst loss of the season. Stanford is an inferior team that he lost to. That was inexcusable.

But I dont know that we can say Utah is an inferior to Oregon. This team dominated them twice. It looks to me like he got beaten by a better team in Utah.

My biggest concern about Mario right now, is his offense. I hope he is savvy enough not ***** up what we already have going on right now offensively. His OC hire will be CRITICAL to us.

Lmao. An actual UM coach or player gets zero sympathy but a dude scorching another team gets the glory hole treatment from a portion of this Phanbase. This is the absolute worse fanbase in sports
Laughing, literally laughing at any Canes fan looking for sympathy for Manny freaking diaz..... GTFOOH looking for sympathy for Manny.
