Cignetti Signs with IU Through 2033

Didn’t think he was leaving IU to begin with, but him being definitely off the market shakes things up in the CFB job market, especially for Penn State.

I don't know if this is where the fever breaks in CFB, but this is absolute MADNESS.

Historians will point to this moment as a key point (of many) where CFB collapsed upon itself.

I believe he'll be 71 at tbe end of contract.

With Cuban involved, I don't know how it will affect their NIL, but 11mil, as reported, ain't gonna cut it.
Mendoza went because he didn't have the confidence to go somewhere more high-pressure. Nothing wrong with that, but they would not be in the position they're in now w/o him and the next guy they try to get isn't going to Indiana without likely a third of their reported NIL spend this year. Not an ideal recipe for success.

This "extension" has a 15 million dollar buyout. Penn State just paid $49 million for Franklin's buyout.

That means it's not an extension. It's public theatre to temporarily placate recruits. With that size of a buyout it wont' stop the the big schools from throwing major money at Cig once the season is over. This does nothing to end the speculation that Cig will take a job at one of the more established blue bloods.

Kinda crazy this guy spent 12 years at IUP, Elon and James Madison after being the WR/RC under Saban at Bama for three years. You’d think he would have ascended quicker.

He isn't at 10 million and we haven't done **** yet.

Please let this happen... It's what Penn State deserves.

Coach who talks like he's got a **** in his mouth coaching at a school that looked the other way while a coach was putting his c...

...nevermind.

But, yes, I agree. That schools deserves all the bad things.

That’s bananas. I mean there’s been some crazy stuff recently with coaches, but this is a whole new ballgame. Wonder what the “cause” clause looks like?
Being completely honest whomever signed off on that should be fired.

That’s crazy. I get that you don’t wanna lose your coach, but there’s no way he’s worth that unless they make a run in the CFP.
For some reason, I’m just not a believer in he or Indiana.
I haven’t watched any of their games, but my buddy who’s lives in Ohio and is a Buckeyes fan mentioned the importance of Indiana’s good coaching.

He mentioned there is no way Indiana is getting quality talent even with NIL, but some kids could be taking a 2nd look now.

To me the perfect person would be Al Golden. The only reason Golden failed at UM was due to his loyalty to Mark D’Onfrio.

Dude killed a promising career at UM over his friend. I can understand looking out for his friend and bringing him on as a position coach but never a DC.

IF Santo Mario get Miami to:

- ACCCG...extension?
- ACCCG W...extension?
- CFPO appearance...extension?
- CFPO W...extension?
- Natty game appearance...extension?
- Hoist the Natty...extension?

None of the above until Y6?
