Every power 5 school wanted Marshal Faulk to play corner back. This included the head coach of his dream school which was the Miami Hurricanes for which he had an official offer to attend.

The only school that promised him he would play running back was SDSU.

Nothing like comparing CWH to a hall of fame player because he wants to play RB

I’d remind him how hard it is to get paid in the league (if that’s his ultimate goal) as a RB compared to corners

IMHO, recruits that could fill multiple roles should be given a year or two to try the position they love the most. If they’re still buried on the depth chart, that still gives them 3-4 years in the role the coaches think best for them. Having a full and balanced roster allows for this. We just haven’t had that in a long time.

Don’t forget that the Gators wanted the kid from Gainesville, Clinton Portis, to play cornerback and Butch offered him as an RB. You win some, you lose some.

What’s to say couldn’t have been a HOF corner too? Lot of guys could have been one of the best at another position. For every Faulk, there’s a thousand fudes who is kicking themselves for not listening to what everyone told them to play.
