Chris Johnson, Jr. commits to Canes.. and is Elite Level FAST!

Nah, we have been over this, you need elite elite speed to think about this. Track has a high ceiling but its floor is pretty **** low. Outside of Bolt, not many make crazy money. CJjr has a chance to play on Sundays. In todays NFL, if you have film, can catch the ball out of the backfield and run a 4.3 or lower you will be taken in day 2.
Do what Gronk did ... bank your signing day bonus ... bank your game check ... and live on the endorsement $$$. After just 2-3 years you have a retirement fund for life.

Offense seems to be getting shored up in the speed department. Now let’s bring some juice to the DB room please
Honestly the OL has been the Main issue with the offense. I think Mario and Mirabal have added skill and talent and are getting it where it needs to be. The speed at RB and WR is a plus, but when the OL gets right this offense will be rolling! Yeah I agree other than Kinchens Miami is still missing “That Guy” in the secondary at CB. There’s a few I think have a chance, but the (pool is thin) who imo has the skill set to be the Guy at CB.

The 200 meter time is truly unbelievable. CJ steps on campus as one of if not the fastest player in college football day 1. 20.40 is wild and he did it without anyone challenging him.

CJ, Harrell, Ray Ray, and Robby add speed to our offense that we haven’t had in decades.
After seeing the speed infusion with the dolphins…this is the right move

Chaney is much bigger and faster than Rooster. 10.77 to a 11.28 and not even close. Parish was faster 11.09 and another reason why he was more productive.

Johnson at 5'11" 180 blazzes past guys and at 10.25 would be 10 yards ahead of Rooster in a 100 meter race. Johnson has some really good moves and does not go down that easy for his size.

We finally have a couple of fast guys that we have been lacking for since Mark Pope 10.54, Lamar Miller 10.56 and Duke Johnson10.62 DVD 10.61 Sam Shields 10.47. Just got to have several guys like that at the same time and not one per team.

That junior WR in Idaho ran a 10.15 today and and 2nd place was 10.92 next to well numbered football field and looked like at least 8 yards. After 30 yards these 10.92 guys where not even close. Every tenth is a yard distance once everyone hitting close to top speed. If you only got some 11.0 to some 11.3 CBs and the other team has a couple of 10.5 or 10.6 guys they will end up getting a way after a while. Speed matters.

Yea the speed in this class is CRAZY. Roderick Pleasant dropped a 10.09, you have a 6'6 DE/TE in Nyckoles Harbor who has 10.20, Zachariah Branch enrolled early but had a 10.33 from his SOPH year, and that doesnt include whatever texas has to offer.. Sheesh these kids are killing it.

It’s on the coaches to find ways to get this dude the ball. He isn’t a high volume guys as a freshman 3-5 touches a game. Threat to take it to the crib every time he touches the ball

I hate to be this guy buy this might need to rethink playing football. He has Olympic level speed. Kid is going to do damage on Saturdays. If he builds his contact-balance, he'll be a LaMichale James 2.0.

No he doesn’t.

Chris Johnson is super fast, he has elite speed, will probably be the fastest player on the field anytime he steps on the field.

But he doesn’t have Olympic level speed and would be crazy to give up football to try to catch a dream that is highly unlikely for him to achieve. In fact, there’s tons of guys that are faster than him that would qualify for the Olympics in the 100 and 200 before he did. Even if he devoted 100% of his time to this.

People need to understand the difference between elite speed and Olympic speed.

People need to understand that Track Speed vs Turf Speed are 2 different animals...and the 100 & 200 aren't what Scouts care about. 40 to 50 meters are what they're interested in.

I can’t wait to see Dawson get him in space.

Yea, Pleasant is flying for a football player and the wind was 3.3, so it was all conditions CA record. Those back ground flags are flying. He is a CB going to Oregon and lives 3 miles from the USC campus. We are not the only ones losing fast players from our backyard. He is a 10.16 sprinter which is one of the fasted football players in the country. The junior WR Justin Bair 10.15 has beat him on a head to head race a while back. He is 6'2" and Mario who used to work that area needs to get on him for UM and show him south Beach. But he is from potato and beet fields mountain valley country.

Asinga as you know, ran a 9.83 with a 2.6 with would have been a 9.93 adjusted to legal. Erriyon Knighton at 6'3" WR quiet football and went pro at 16 years old and turned 17 right after that and ran a 9.99 with a 2.7 wind and his times do not show up as high school times. Knighton's best wind legal times at 18 years old are at 10.04 and a 19.49. Asinga runs at the private school in central Florida so almost pro. These guys are all 100% year round track guys.

THISSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! GAMEBREAKING SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED :u5pyxda:

I dont think people understand how bad we NEEEEED this, for reference for people who dont follow track Devon Achane in high school was a 10.5 runner, he dropped his time in texas am to like 10.1 range.

Tyreek Hill was 10.19 in high school (he played RB in college also),
Hester personal best was 10.42 (mind you he had "next man" speed on football field :alien:)
Dorsett 10.58,
Santana moss 10.7,
Travis Benjamin 10.57

Had dreams of seeing this since I watched it live in orange and green, mind you Singleton runs 10.8 and had players look like they in mud with angle.

@ZeroBeachCane3 , @Memnon , @DMoney where ya at? I hope poppin bottles..

This is a parcial list that keeps growing from back for the UM glory days to today. Always comparing and fact checking with these PAC ten and Texas guys out here in LA on who has or had the fastest teams or high school track times and got to out fact them. Florida has had the fastest sprinters over all since the Bob Hayes days to today.

UM used to have so many fast players on the team at one time and a lot of them ran on the track team together back in the 80s and the 2000s champion year teams. Maybe some of you south Florida track guys and coaches can dig up some old times or new times and add to it or correct it. Hard to find 80s and 90s times. Put up some 40 times last week on this post or the Harrel post of some 4.25 times but not sure how accurate they were.

The 100 times are usually more accurate advanced set up electronic track competition times and are just more accurate than the 40 mostly stop watch times unless they have electronic UM pro days or NFL combine times. Not sure how a accurate the pro day times are but the players are probably a lot more relaxed and have faster times on their home fields vs the extreme pressure at the combine. Track times start at the sound of the start signal or gun to the laser and football some forty times are laser to laser. Laser to laser would be faster than sound reaction to laser.

A 20.40 puts him easily in the Top 100 for 200 meter sprinters in the world.

A HS athlete who isn't a full-on track star versus grown men with years of specialized training.

The dude is ******* lightning.
