“I think Choc [Trayone Gray] is also better than he was before he tore his ACL. He’s still trying to work himself back in the best shape, not to say he’s in bad shape, but we play at a high tempo and I demand a lot of those guys. There’s no hesitation by him. He doesn’t slow down on contact. He’ll stick his foot in the ground with that knee. He’s good. And we’re trying to get Robert Burns to get more reps because I don’t really know who he is yet. I know what he can be, which is phenomenal. But I need to see it day in and day out.”

Sounds a little more encouraging

I never thought he was that good, I remember a lot of people were high on him and I never understood why.

Because he was torching and outrunning elite Miami defenses week in and week out. The talent is there
as a running QB when everybody was backing up in to pass defense... HE was never that good although he has the attributes.. Like i said its reported that he is still gimpy

Currently 232lbs, working on his pad level and his mobility is back to normal. Pushing T.Homer for 2nd team reps right now. Stay healthy Choc!

No, he isn't. Look, I wanted the kid to do well but he just hasn't. Maybe he still can, but I'll believe it when I see it and thus far he's shown absolutely nothing.

I was excited about him based on his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands.

But the red flags include never being on special teams, fumbling, suspensions, running too high, flirted with leaving at one point allegedly, perennially behind Yearby/Edwards. And now he's 230 lbs with a bad leg. It's over.

He’s currently working as the third-team running back behind Mark Walton and Travis Homer. But he’s also gotten his share of second-team reps and hopes to push Homer for opportunities in games.

“I’m a big back the team needs,” said Gray, who currently weighs 232 pounds. “I just want to use my size - I’m big and can move, run a 4.4 in the 40.”

It's just not translating at this level. He def had some savage in his HS highlights, but dammit mane, he just seems way too raw still. Always hopeful he's a gamer, we will need him a bit this year.

LOL he's hardly pushing Homer for Reps. He's clearly the 3rd string guy and if Burns gets healthy he may end of 4th string.

How many legit chances has Gray gotten to "show it at this level?" He played behind great RBs while transitioning from QB. Then he missed an entire season. I don't know if he's great or not, but Jesus fck you guys are brutal.

He's a giant fast kid who showed some flashes in very brief action a couple years ago. We will likely need him this year, so I hope he makes you Bill Polian Jrs eat **** like Berry did.

5 carries for 2 yards in the scrimmage. On a bum knee. Give it up people he's not the savior the board thought he was

2014
Choc had duke, yearby, Edwards in front of him.

2015
Choc had mainly yearby and Walton in front of him

2016
Loss his season to the knee injury

Yeah he had had ball security issues at times but he really hasn't got a chance to show what he can do due to who was ahead of him or because of the unfortunate injury last year.

I don't think there was another player that wanted to be a Cane more than Choc.

I'm pulling for him to do well - he's a good kid.

Loved the kid out of high school, hope he contributes before he leaves. We need him to.

He's fine as the 3rd string RB. He's also lucky to be the 3rd string RB because if Yearby, Gus, McFarland were all here he'd be elsewhere.

What were his stats in the scrimmage? He's not pushing anybody right now.
